Still looks hella sexy, isn't Mcmahon the team that run an Evora in the FIA GT4 series?

Anyone gonna be locked in for the Indy race today? I've got Motors TV set to record if I can't watch it, but I'm looking forward to it - been checking out races from the 2012 season thus far, it's been a superb season so far. Very excited :)

I am taking off of work after lunch...just to watch 👍

Nice one MustangManiac :) If I can get near the TV for my folks watching the Olympic opening ceremony I'll watch it. If not, got it Sky Plussed for tomorrow :)

Meh, ended under caution.

^Montoya took out a car, then a Porsche got wrecked, now it's ending under caution.

What happened exactly?

Well the cars where running in this order before

3.Dalziel (2nd place in championship)
4. Montoya (nothing to lose) Chip Ganassi racing)
5. Pruett (1st place in championship) ChipGR Racing

Montoya drives into Dalziel on the grass in turn 1 Pastor Maldonado style.
Dalziel gets punted into the kitty litter.

Dalziel goes a few laps down under safety car waiting to get pulled out. Big hit in the championship for Starworks.

Peter Baron the boss of StarWorks gets interviewed. He say that he told Grand-AM before the race weekend (letters and emails documented) that Montoya would take them out. But it not like GRand-Am could just ban JPM.

And then it happened. Its good food for a conspiracy to take out the starworks car and help the 01 get a lead i nthe championship

That punt/payback the Action Express #9 gave to JPM practically helped him gain two spots. However, due to some lousy camera work, I don't feel that I can properly judge the Dalziel vs JPM incident. And way to go Bourdais! Glad to see a new face and a new car in victory lane!

Looks like Montoya was forced into the grass if anything. Nothing he could do.

Exactly. Montoya couldn't really do much being driven into the grass and he had the inside line for the next corner. Ryan just forced a pass he couldn't complete.

Well it appears I succumbed to the opening ceremony in the end, so I'll be watching this tomorrow. Sounds like an interesting (if that's the word?) finale...everyone likes a good conspiracy theory, and nobody seems to like the Ganassi team much. Just as long as they didn't win (been nice seeing them NOT sweeping everything before them this year for a change), I'm pretty happy. If the Spirit of Daytona boys and my fellow Londoner Richard Westbrook did well, even better :)

EDIT: From Montoya's Twitter: 'its kind of funny when i always get blame for everything. they hit me and nobody says anything and i get there we touch and its my fault LOL'

At least we know where he stands on it...

Wait wut? Ryan was leading Montoya before the accident. Montoya was doing the passing here around the outside.

No. Ryan was on the outside going through 2, Montoya was basically in the grass and Ryan turned into him.

You said Ryan forced a pass he couldnt complete...
but He was the one being passed. That doesnt make sense to me.

Ryan was leading Montoya at that stage of the race like I said correct?

Then Montoya attempted to pass on the outside correct?

And he went off track not helped by Dalziel but put Pruett in the same situation and he would have backed out of it. We all know Montoya is aggresive,

And everyone forgets Roja's stupid move on the Camaro? No penalty for that? Then JPM takes out Barbosa and Dalziel, and no penalty for that either? Are the officials really that afraid of Ganassi? Pathetic really. Still an intense race, loved it.

Let me try to explain that better: From what the Cameras were Showing of the incident, Montoya was on the outside in the corner in Turn 1 and actually had the position going in. I say Ryan was trying to force a pass he couldn't complete because he already had Montoya basically two tires in the grass being so close and he basically screwed himself turning into him. Yes Montoya is agreesive, but that incident wasn't all him.

The incident with Barbosa wasn't even Montoya's fault, He took a wide entry and turned into Montoya. As for Roja's move on the Camaro, yes that was stupid. Plenty of time left in the race to catch up and he does that. Also, you didn't seem to count the incident with Bergmeister and the 59, which also had no penalty.

The guy is deadly on all road courses. Multi time champ car winner. I cannot understand why Penske or Gannasi has not given him a proper ride but instead to a graham rahal etc. Rahal is good but Bourdais is just better. He's as good as Will Power and Simon Pagenaud in driving skill.

Does seem to be that it's more than just the SPEED commentators who are in thrall of the Ganassi team. Shame really. Also I really loose respect for Prototype drivers in sportscar racing who wipe out lower-class guys in their own pursuit of positions, hence why I went right off Anthony Davidson after he junked a Corvette at Le Mans a few years ago just because he was annoyed and trying to make up time after a mistake.

Also, hearing all these differing opinions on what happened is just making me want to watch the race even more! I'll watch it and get back to y'all. Sounds great either way.

And it is great indeed to see Bourdais do well. I saw him sweep aside all in front of him in Champ Cars, then when he turned up in F1 I said to my F1 following friends to expect big things. As it was he never got a fair crack of the whip, had atrocious luck, and even his odd good finishes were blighted with ridiculous stewards decisions et al. He did well in the V8 Supercars last year, and seeing him back at the sharp end is excellent :)
