How is Ricciardo received overseas? He's been getting a lot of coverage down here, naturally, but it is very difficult to dislike him - even when he is racing for a team who are fairly unlikeable.
I'm curious because Ricciardo clearly has charisma. Where Mark Webber was able to get the fans on-side, he did it through playing the media. When Vettel took criticism for his actions in Malaysia last year, his supporters pointed out numerous occasions where Webber had ignored instructions, like at Silverstone in 2012.
But Ricciardo seems to have won over the hearts and minds of the people, and I am wondering what effect that will have on Vettel. The team claimed they had done nothing wrong and that they would continue to race the way they had been, but they were still getting booed. Ricciardo hasn't done anything different, and he gets cheers to drown out his engine. That's got to have some kind of psychological effect on Vettel.
