Thanks I didn't know it was from the feed last night đź‘Ť

Anyone just see Lewis lap, there was a massive moment in the right-left-right, (turn 8?), that should've ended the lap. Also the car was very understeery in slow corners.

Hello everyone, back for the race. :D Coffee in hand, watching the channel that F1 is on here in the states. It is showing Premier league highlights right now (Everton vs Cardiff city). About 2 hours left :D

How is Ricciardo received overseas? He's been getting a lot of coverage down here, naturally, but it is very difficult to dislike him - even when he is racing for a team who are fairly unlikeable.

I'm curious because Ricciardo clearly has charisma. Where Mark Webber was able to get the fans on-side, he did it through playing the media. When Vettel took criticism for his actions in Malaysia last year, his supporters pointed out numerous occasions where Webber had ignored instructions, like at Silverstone in 2012.

But Ricciardo seems to have won over the hearts and minds of the people, and I am wondering what effect that will have on Vettel. The team claimed they had done nothing wrong and that they would continue to race the way they had been, but they were still getting booed. Ricciardo hasn't done anything different, and he gets cheers to drown out his engine. That's got to have some kind of psychological effect on Vettel.

Aside from the inevitable schadenfreude for Red Bull he seems to be fairly well-received. As you went on to say, he does have charisma which people either take at "face value" or gently take the mick out of. That's good either way, I guess!

Certainly people don't seem as unhappy to see him in P2 as they would have been if Vettel had been there.

Race coverage has just started here, you realize how unimportant this sport is here even though there are two mexican racers competing

I cannot imagine how it was when Pedro Rodriguez was around in the 60's

NBCSN is re-airing their "countdown show" again for the 30th time. I think live coverage starts in 30 minutes here in the states.

Just a quick remark,

But that Ferrari nose is really ugly, as you see it on track and get to see it moving through different angles, it doesn't help. The shapes sort of merge into each other in an unpleasing way, from the flat top at the top down to the vacuum cleaner noozle. just ugly.

It's odd too that the Mercedes uses a similar profile and theory, and the Merc sort of looks okay. Not too pretty, but it doesn't having the jarring ugliness.

The opening video was great, they always do one that has to do with the race, but this time, they showed some cars with innovative features and a message to Michael Schumacher!!!

Oh those clouds are intimidating! it must rain if we want every car end up with its engine in one piece :D

They have not stopped talking about him here, he has the charisma, well, you always see him smiling!

The difference is that Ferrari's nose is steeper. It looks OK from the front, but dreadful from the sides.

I don't really think Red Bull has anyone to blame but themselves re: For the images of their car with the body-work off.

They are there with the side off the car, surely with the amount of personel they have in the garage they would know to usher away any camera crew.
