Is there a live stream? Could the OP please post it in the OP? My cousin lives in France. I told him to look at the official F1 site. He said that there isn't a live feed.

We can't discuss it here. The Formula 1 subreddit has some links if you're interested. Besides, qualy's over already. Race is still some 14 hours away.

Welp, as previously voiced, it certainly doesn't sound much like F1 anymore. Has that 80s turbo vibe to it sure, but reminds me more of a GT sports car race. On it's own that's still good, but it's just not preferable!

I figured the sound would be a bit more exciting now that they are running at full RPM (since they ran detuned during tests), but it sounds pretty much the same.

Although the biggest plus I've noticed with this years reg changes is putting more driver in the drivers seat! Was such a treat to have a wet quali because that put even more emphasis on the drivers.

I was excited for the start of the new season regardless, but this has been quite an incredibly interesting turn of events!

Also I'm still trying to wrap my head around how the cars are geared. Definitely saw the 8th gear being reached. Not sure if the top speed here is being hit in 7th or 8th though. I'm somewhat worried about how Monaco, Signapore, Monza, and Spa will go down. Will they be bouncing off the limiter on the high speed tracks? And will they not even reach 6th on the slow ones? I know there is separate thread, and that what gears they use isn't incredibly important, but I just don't want the set ratios to "ruin" any races.

What about during qualifying? No fuel restrictions then. At least so I would think.
They're not going to risk destroying their equipment. If there wasn't a restriction on # of engines/gearboxes for the season, they'd probably crank them up as much as they could.

This was one of the best qualifying sessions in a long time, or maybe I just miss F1. I love how every time someone exits a corner you're on the edge of your seat, not knowing if they'll catch it or not. Vettel's right rear tap, Massa and Magnussen's corrections were the highlights. Oh, and that crowd roar. I wish we had Italian, British and Australian fans in every GP. All the others are too quiet.

Not sure what happened to Button at the end of Q2, I was banking on him being in the top 4.
Sound of crowd> V8
Hey, they were louder than last year's V8s at Silverstone. We can/should still have both.

Wow Lewis is still a rain master, and so are many of the young guys, Daniil I didn't think would be much but he showed me so far in a very craptastic car.

He was last over the line. Had Rosberg been 1 second earlier to the line he would've made it. Lap for lap, sector for sector Rosberg was faster. Furthermore, in every wet session last year Rosberg was by far the fastest car on the track. The only exception was Canada and that's because he had no radio, and didn't know where he was on track or what to do.

I think partially why Kimi is struggling with the Ferrari is the steering, I believe that since Alonso came Ferrari have had a slower steering rack which means you have to apply more lock for corners than other cars and we know the Lotus had a very good front end which is what Kimi likes.

Just a guess.
Yup. He does have a lazy personality. If he's anything like me, general laziness should translate to lazy muscle movements. I like as little steering on the car as I can, which is far from what Ferrari have had since Alonso came along. I think you're right.

edit

I'm really happy for DR and all, but he's always been great in qualifying and horrible in the race. If he makes the podium tomorrow, he's on my shortlist.

He would have had an extra lap if he didn't go off the track at turn 9, so it's his own fault.

It was recoverable if it wasn't for traffic and it's not the point. Even DR would've been on pole had he been 10 seconds or so behind Hamilton rather than ahead. Hamilton, or anyone on pole today means nothing, not in changing conditions.
