Managed to get some time on this after work... mainly to sort a tune out. Got the balance and traction I like now and hopefully I'll get a chance to have a proper run over the weekend.

Improved to 1'32.1, but plenty left :)

Cracking times being set... some people have got a lot quicker recently!!

I LOVE this post! I get PSN messages sent to me commenting on what aid/transmission/car I may or may not be using and I am totally stealing you "fish and chip's" analogy. Many 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 to you Sir.
What I think is really funny, WhoosierGirl, is that almost every top driver in GT6 will tell you that driving a manual transmission in this game would actually make you faster. So, if someone is bitching about you using an AT instead of MT, just asking them if they want you to beat their butts even worse! :D  Now, I know you've stated several times that you can drive MT and you've practiced a bit with it, but you just feel more comfortable with AT and you certainly don't have all the free time that many GT6 players do to dedicate towards forcing yourself to switch. Again, at your level of performance you switching to a MT would most likely only hurt your lap times until you logged hundreds and hundreds of hours into driving MT. I don't blame you one bit for not caring that much about forcing yourself to drive MT. But giving you grief over it?

Having said all of that, I do sort of have a problem with top drivers using AS. First of all, if you took the Top 20 leader board from a random event and then forced anyone who used AS to re-run with AS turned off, I'd say there is a 98% chance that those same drivers would continue to remain in the Top 20 - it's just that the overall lap time would probably be a teeny bit slower than with it turned on.

I understand why SOME of the top drivers use AS. I'm sure they would rather drive with it turned off, but then they see the Top 50 is filled with the majority of drivers using it, and they want to see their name up in the Top 50 like usual, so they turn it on as well. Or, I'm sure there is a very small percentage of top drivers who just don't have the time to learn the nuances of the particular car/track combination, so they turn on AS so they don't have to worry about controlling the back-end of the car quite as much as they would with it turned off.

Regardless of the reason, I wish top drivers wouldn't use it. It is an artificial aid and their skills are already insanely badass that they don't need AS turned on for any other reason than vanity - seeing their name up on the leader board. I would bet that 99.9% of those top drivers who use AS would have something to say about another top level driver using ASM. And he should...ASM is an unrealistic driving aid, just like AS is. To me, it's one of those situations where "Yeah...I can't stand people using driving aids, well, except for the driving aids I prefer to use!" I don't mean this as an insult to anyone who might read this. As I said before, every single one of those Top 100 drivers who might use AS would kick my butt around the track with everything turned off - ABS included.

Personally, I wish the game grey'ed out the option to enable/disable driving aids like ASM, AS and SRF once you reach the S (Super) License Class. For arcade mode, you can still do whatever you want. But in career mode events, the training wheels are not just removed, they are thrown away.

In the interest of full disclosure, I have used AS a couple of times for Seasonal Events. The one that remains fresh in my mind was the Super Lap in the snow and then the Rally style race. I don't ever practice those events (type of driving) and I can't stand how it makes my wheel sound/feel. Im so afraid its going damage my DFGT so I'd like to be done with them as quickly as I can. Sadly, even with AS turned on I struggled with the snow event. But this is all just one man's opinion. :)

Not even close to most of the people posting here  , but had a small victory improving myself.

After using the RX-7 and reaching a 1:34.804 (DS3, ABS1) switched to the Subaru.
Took some time to adjust to it. Using @lisanorm 's tune from this thread as a base tune and adjusting it to my liking.
Now after almost 300 km's finally beat my own time previously set with the RX-7 with a 1:34.545 (DS3, ABS1).

Enjoying this "rainy" seasonal.

well done mate 👍,yeah it was just a rough tune, have not had much time to get back on it, and it handled pretty good,i just could not handle the rex :embarrassed:,but in the end i was glad to get a somewhat average time  but am always happy to be that few secs behind the top guys :D,who have had a good battle amongst themselves

But...How is that possible?? Modified the car in some programe on his computer??? He must be good wiyh IT stuff. And the driving also looks extremely relaxed...But PD only need to look at his car data to reveal him...Lets see.

And the driving also looks extremely relaxed...

Really?
I thought it looked very scruffy, he almost comes to a standstill at T2, lots of throttle mashing out of every corner too, very much a point and squirt car and driver lol.

Didn't notice the wheels, will have to take another look tomorrow.

Didn't notice the wheels

The tyres sink a fair few centimeters into the rear diffuser, as was mentioned already, they are at least 40% wider than normal.
If you take a look at your own replay you will see that the normal tyres have quite a gap to the diffuser.

My normal car..

Bruno's hacked car ..

Thanks for the heads up. Always good to know what I'm looking for :)

I'd be willing to bet it is not just Bruno who is cheating, but also that dude who is currently #2. There is also a Brazilian currently #13 running the same settings, but I don't want to start a witch hunt against all Brazilian races. Someone should report their findings (the wide tires) and I'm sure they will be removed quickly. @Brunoblak is a lonely individual.

Went to Base Performance Simulators today for a Formula Student driver assessment. Other than the FS Silverstone cone courses, Brands Hatch was run. Cheers GT6 seasonal events.
U manage to find any price tags lying around for the 2.0 bps sim? Smaller one.

Meeh meeh meeh... Yesterday saw no improvement of my now old personal record of 1.34.535 :grumpy: And tonight I cannot play GT :(...And then there also are those new A spec seasonals. Meeh.... How do one find his time for all that....More meeh...

I'm busy untill Wednesday. Birthday Tuesday you see :)
Aah, Ok, congratulations in forehand  and really great job with the lap time also  it's gonna probably take me until Tuesday till I get even close  if even then :D naah, I have been on side of you and even in front of you on that back straight but of course I mess it all at some point, every time I have improved it has been on very lousy start...

Just take it easy and try again next week if you feel like it, no need to worry too much 👍

If it wasn't for that hacker at the top, I'd be 9th on the leader board now. :banghead:

Improved to 1:31.532 but had a slow final corner so a little miffed. :irked:

I thought that last night when i hit 15th.. Was thinking 13th looks so much better lol... Made some wild random change to my setup last night using large amounts of positive toe and im on for 31.4/5s if i hold it together... Its lazy initially on turn in but the back end hardly ever steps out, so if i can just get the right amount of rotation on entry its stable enough to just plant it through those right handers and final 2 bends... Enjoying this event again.. Even if im back on the AS

Thanks my good man, I'll have. Beer for you

Isn't it funny how our best lap, is never our 'best lap'

I tried the positive toe route last night and whilst it helped with the exits, it killed rotation... ended up running an open diff (5,5,5), which pretty much allows full throttle on the exits as long as you're not on the kerbs... might even go a click or 2 higher on accel and still allow the same level of traction.

I'm already using max front/min rear ride and very high rear brake bias, so not too many other options to get the rotation, but I did find stiffer dampers helped a bit (can't remember the exact combo).

Thanks mate

And you are very correct on that later part, damn I just made 32.092 and I think I'm at least .150 behind you straight from the first turns  and every, I mean every freaking time I make it good trough first 3 sectors I just F it up  just insane  I bet we gonna have Ascari next week, this track really reminds of it somehow :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
