Don't know it anyone already knows but Team Sahlen is comign to DP with two BMW Riley DPs.
Excellent! The DP field needs a boost right now. I remember back in the early 2000s when DP fields were anywhere between 15-20 cars, so it's nice to see the car count climb back to that number again. And with the GX class coming and rumors about Aston Martin joining as a power plant or manufacturer, I bet we can expect more of this.
MrMelancholy15Aston, no matter how much I want them to win, haven't yet proven themselves in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge; how could they prove themselves in Rolex?
One of the Starworks cars will get into the Ganassi car before this is over.. Watch. I might be going to the Daytona 24 this January, fingers crossed..
I will be there if your not! It will be my first Rolex race, first road race, and first race at Daytona.
I have a feeling the whole reason Starworks even really put out a 2nd car was to pull a Ganassi deal to have a car to play blocker with. I don't like that it happens, but you use the hand that's played.
They didn't make contact. In fact, the two Starworks cars did well, and didn't actually make contact or block. The fact that the Championship's looking better for Starworks than Ganassi, despite the points lead Ganassi has/had, is a testament to Starworks' legitimate contention.
I wasn't referring to the actual race, just the whole deal how some teams might use the lower team to help keep a 2nd place championship car from winning or getting past their #1 car.
Just because you predict that to happen, and it ends up happening, doesn't make a conspiracy.
Also, nice to hear that Turner Motorsport has finally received factory support from BMW.
How much though?
RLL has "Factory Support" in the ALMS... And I'd barely call it that.
I'm happy for them! They've done so much on their own, it's really good to see them beign rewarded by BMW for their efforts!
Now to change that fugly livery...
Factory support can mean many things for Turner, from beign "secretly" funded by BMW to simply getting parts and cars practically for free. Back in the World Challenge days PTG was supported by BMW and they used their own livery, so it doesn't necesarily mean they'll change their livery.
Now to change that fugly livery...
I really hope they don't change it! Turner's livery is an icon of modern american racing!

Hope they can get some custumers, I'd love to see this car run on this side of the Atlantic! I doubt Grand Am would let this car run at 650HP as it would probably be faster than the DPs, but it would be nice to see it homologated for GT-X!McLaren AutomotiveMcLaren 12C Can-Am Edition racing concept announced:
McLaren GT, the team responsible for building the 12C GT3s seen racing across Europe this summer, are debuting a brand new concept racer at this weekends Pebble Beach Concours d'Eleganc...e. The 12C Can-Am edition - named after the infamous race series which saw some of McLarens greatest wins - is the first model that McLaren GT has displayed in North America, and is designed specifically for the market. The concept features the same carbon fibre MonoCell as the road going 12C, but adds a host of modifications designed strictly for the track: A brand new aerodynamics kit including splitter, diffuser and rear wing increases downforce by 30%, an uprated engine package generates up to 630hp, and extensive use of carbon fibre reduces weight to just 1,200kg (2645.5lbs). So what do you think, are you ready to race yet?
I agree. I don't mind Yellow.
I didn't mind yellow, until Mac brought it up. Then I started thinking, and thought of the ALMS M3s. Yeah, white's a nice colour.
MrMelancholy15
I feel like someone's trolling, looking for an argument, and it isn't you, Jav. Mac's been saying the opposite to what I say for a while. I agree with you, in most ways, and there are a lot of people who agree with what I say, (including that Starworks is better than Ganassi,) but, there are few who really want to argue here. Move along, please, I won't argue.
