Here are some notes on Daytona Prototypes for 2012. Check it out:
You can read the website above to learn more about the specs of DP cars for next year. Once you have a look, what do you make of DP's for 2012 based on this info?
It looks to be another great year in racing for Grand Am.
The Riley chassis looks a bit different and I would like to see the other makes as well.
IMO the snout of the Dallara looks nice, I hope they keep it.
I hope to see more prototypes in the ALMS next year.
3 - 4 LMP1/2 cars at most races are not enough, those teams might want to consider the Grand Am series instead.
The LMPC class is doing well but the other 2 are not.
That one seems more like a stuck throttle. The Camaro had a brake failure when he collided with the Mazda. Obviously, you can tell he hit the brakes hard, but they went away and that straight at Road America is not a good place to have your brakes go out, obviously.
Hamlin blew a tire coming down the hill to Turn 1, which in turn cut his brake line.
"This was just terrifying, because you know there's nothing you can do and you're headed straight for the fence," said Hamlin, who emerged from the wreck unscathed. "That was the scariest I've been in my car.
It's too bad they cut the roof of the Dempsey RX-8, but great news that Joe Foster was OK.
I was a bit surprised that the Indy race at Infineon used "the short coarse" which had the cars turn at the beginning of pit road entrance for those that may have a throttle stick.
TK did have a similar situation but it was earlier on the track and he was able to bring the car into the pits.
Did you see what happened to Tony Stewart at the same area of the track this year?
Here is a video of 2 buddies racing with a bit of confusion as to what led up to the crash.
It seems cars can climb tires!!
