Anybody out there following the Grand Am?

The Camaro? They were runners up in the championship last year, I wouldn't count them out.

I'm talking about the Rolex 24. There are fewer of those makes entered, so they have the least mathematical percentage chance of winning, so that's why I'm cheering for those guys. Especially Mazda and Viper. Stevenson has a great shot at winning after looking at the roar practice times. They are in the top 5 every session I believe.

I have to root for the new Sahlen BMWs as their team is based out of Buffalo NY which is not far down the road from me.

In GT though I'm Brumos all the way.

Buffalo is literally a 15 minute drive from my house, where about is their shop?

The Wayne and Dane show was fast at the roar. I wouldn't be surprised to see Sahlen win the Rolex 24.

Silly northerner!!!!!!

Why in the world would you like Brumos over APR, Audi Sport, and... everything else in GT?

I love the RX-8, the R8, and the Aston Martin... How can you prefer the half-century old styling of the Porsche? The rear-engined-ness of it?

Good luck to whoever team is gonna try to get that to win. I don't hate it, but I'm not too confident in it really challenging for wins now that the GT3 Brigade has arrived with reinforcements.

Poor referencing on my part as I was actually referring to Sahlen the company that supports them, not the race team.

Starworks for DP, an Audi for GT, and I havent seen all the GX runners yet so...

Hopefully the Andy Blackmore Spotter guide come out soon!

This. ^ I've decided that, since I don't think the Mazda GT class wins are coming, I'll be hoping:

  • Starworks for DP
  • Audi Sport GT
  • Speedsource Mazda GX (I'm a typical Canadian ex-Mazda owner)

Jav
ESM for GT, Mazda For GX and Ganassi for DP!!

I'm a Scott Pruett fan, but not a ganassi fan. Memo Rojas and Juan Montoya have made me cheer against ganassi after their idiot driving at Indy.

I don't like Pruett. I've always thought he seems like a bit of 🤬.

Lol!! Not mine, I didn't get to go as I got stuck under the hood of my brother's car all weekend.
But yes, it really looks good!

Pruett is clean, and he's a fast mother... Still, I will cheer against Ganassi because they made the #02 car at Indy driven by Juan Montoya as a cruise missile aimed at the two teams that could beat the #01 in the championship. Montoya took out both the #9 Action Express car, and he took out the #8 Starworks car. Peter Baron's quote after Ryan Dalziel got taken out by Montoya deserves a trophy. He said, "It didn't take Nostradamus to tell you that Montoya was going to take someone out."

Dude, the Action Express cars had no chance. Also, I still find the whole thing about him "Sent to Intentionally take out other cars" BS. Yes Montoya drives overly aggressive, this has been the case since F1 (and quite frankly, was the most exciting driver that happened in the Schumacher domination era of it until a younger, slightly more reckless Lewis Hamilton came along), but Ganassi didn't bring a car to "Take out the championship contender" (if thats the case, then why didn't that happen like every other year prior?), he got a 2nd car to play defense to the championship contending car like any multi-car team would (Like Starworks for instance?). Its funny that every other team does it but because its Montoya, its automatically wrong and hence, the automatic assumtion that whenver he's in a race, its just to crash someone (nevermind the idea of winning the race). And Peter Baron's comment is that of someone who can't take having things done to him but finds it ok to do it himself (nobody remember him bringing Three cars to Lime Rock Park and having the third one trying to crash the 01?). Yeah its fine when anyone else does it (like when Ryan Dazhiel ran Montoya off the road and caused his own accident or when Joao Barbosa tryed to shut the door on him when he was already at his door and wrecked himself.), but its the end of the world when Montoya does it? I'm not defending taking people out but if you're gonna call out this team for bringing a second car to play defense for achampionship and a certain driver from some agressive driving, you better call out everyone else too.

Starworks brought a 3rd car to return the favor. I think I would find another car too if I had been wrecked already earlier in the season. The 8 incident can be viewed as a racing incident if one fails to watch Montoya after contact push dalziel in the sand. There is no way the 9 car could be considered to be shutting the door. Juan absolutely dive bombed the 9 car. There is nothing accidental. Juan entered that turn all the way on the bottom of the track. I'll post replays once I can get on the computer version.

How can you not like Pruett? Here we go with the whole Montoya Indy thing again.. Is that a Gen 1 DP in that video?

LancerEvo7
Montoya was on the inside because Dalziel ran him wide off turn one.

Dorsey Schrader(spelling?) said in the broadcast "it didn't have to happen. There was room for 2 cars. Montoya's tires weren't on the grass when contact was made. Montoya was given room.
