Anybody out there following the Grand Am?

It was related to him driving off the track though.

I suppose that's true. It's a "one thing leads to another" situation.

He was on probation for this exact kind of driving, that's whats wrong with it. He was told not to making contact but he does it anyway and again, in the first part of the race.

But the contact was not his fault. Like I said, Memo came down on him. In my opinion, people like Yacaman, who take advantage of every opportunity they get to advance their position regardless of whether or not they are on probation, are true racers. This is why I'm really beginning to like this guy.

Pruetts interview didnt rub off too well on me. That's all I'll say about that. Yacaman wasn't being very intelligent with that move, but memo gave him the grass on the inside when yacaman was right there.

Memo was setting up for the apex, he didn't "Come down on him". Also I'm sorry, but disregarding a probation isn't good for you if you want to keep your seat or keep from getting park. That's borderline Unsportsman Like Behavior. "True racers" aren't automatically defined by their complete disregard of the rules.

Memo gave the #3 more space at the same corner....and then spun him at the next corner. He gave the spot back though I think so he might get away with that.

Looked like Memo got abit loose and contacted him.

Notice memo gave Michael a whole groove and left the 6 with the curb....

Well, I take back what I said about Memo's accident with the 3. Thought he was loose, but he just flat out ran over Valiante. Somehow I forgot Memo also being an idiot driver.

Exactly. And this has everything to do with the fact that Memo's a champion, and he knows Yacaman's just a rookie.

Memo was setting up for the apex, he didn't "Come down on him".

If you watch the replay, you'll notice that Yacaman nearly hugs the rumble strip.

Disregard for their specific circumstances, yes, but not the rules until they break them, which I believe Yacaman did not.

Good hard racing, and Action Express takes the lead!

Very good racing out there. Liddell had a mess up with Segal coming out of pit road. Rain tires going on right now. Great finish coming up!

That BMW spinning.
I was surprised that the Corvette got a time penalty.

... until I heard Boris Said drove the Corvette.

Seriously seen enough of his attitude on NASCAR.

I agree with the call, but Turner did the same move on Andy Lally at COTA and wasn't penalized. Inconsistency in officiating again.

His career outside of NASCAR is really good though, currently the only American to win overall at the Nurburgring 24

The officiating was much better though in this race, calls were much more consistent. According to SPEED Lamy lost his ride at 8 Star after he crashed in Detroit, but I didn't necessarily believe that..

Nah, when the other 8Star chassis is rebuilt, Lamy and Sarrazin will race the 3 car while Enzo and Michael will race the other chassis 👍

Except it was Eric Curran driving, not Boris Said.

Sorry, but I see nothing wrong with what he did. He saw a gap, and Memo came down on him. The massive fire which followed afterward appears to be unrelated.

Memo had every right to take his line through the corner. Yacaman divebombed him and paid for it with his car and hopefully his ride.

Memo's been known for driving questionably on several occasions.. just saying.

Exactly. Proof is later in the race when memo flat out took Michael Valiante out and cost his team valuable points.

Oh btw: 15 Gt already on the Sahlen's 6 @ the Glen entry list :) I'm expecting 14 or more DP as well.

I'll be there as well, but throughout the GA season, I've been wondering what happened to the TRG GT3 Astons which were supposed to debut at COTA. I hope to see them at the Glen, but I doubt that they'll show as I haven't heard much about them lately.

I'd also love to see Rum Bum's Audi R8 back on track for round two of the NAEC. I don't see why they wouldn't put that car to use as it was specifically built for the NAEC (Or at least Daytona).

Doesn't really matter if he is the dirtiest driver around, he still had the right to his line on that corner.

What gives a driver the "right" to his line when someone else is occupying it beside him? I don't believe such a right exists as this is known as passing.

You need considerable overlap before the corner before turn in. Yacaman didn't have it and hit the rear half of Memo's car. Thus he was at fault. Memo did the same thing later in the race and was penalized for it. You can't just throw your car anywhere and expect people to give you room.

I believe it was a combination of Yacaman bouncing off the curb to drivers left and Memo not giving him enough room. Obviously, Yacaman wasn't trying to take him out. Despite this, I respect Yacaman because you don't see his style of racing often anymore. I style which, in short, is all about taking every single opportunity you get, regardless of your chances, and executing. I like this a lot. Now I know most would say, "Well it's just stupid and he won't gain any respect racing like this", but in my opinion, this is what racing should be like.
