Does shift/shift 2 even really count for anything? They're both poor games. I am aware that iRacing has Okayama. As I am a member.

I guess the Apple Keynote comparison was on topic as I was comparing it to the GT5 2.0 announcement.

Yeah Shift2 does count for something. Your opinion is was bad, my opinion it was awesome, and the tracklist is the best in any console game to date...imo of course, but I know many others who share it.

Hmmm...listen to some fans maybe. Didnt listen to drag racing fans. Didnt listen to standard to premium conversion fans. Didnt listen to listen to fans saying too many Skylines. Leaderboard fans? My point is, as happy as you are, there are plenty of people just as UNhappy.

I disagree. You only get Generic sounds from the Semi-Racing and Racing exhaust on GT5. With the Sports and stock exhausts the car sounds somewhat like real life. To me your saying that every car in GT5 sounds the same. I might just have to correct you if this is the case.

Sounds like you played the demo and didn't like it and don't view it worth buying and the GT5 update really doesn't have a whole lot to do with it actually.(I do agree that it doesn't feel very different than FM3)



If this were a re-release of GT5 we were discussing you would have a point, it's not though. It's an update for a year old game, it's not going to be running in Kevin Butler ads, it's not going to be listed next to FM4 in store flyers and chances are big game sites aren't going to give it more than a listing on the game page itself.

People on sites like this may think it's some huge world stopping event that will disrupt everything but like I said, outside of fan sites patches don't get any press therefor don't sell any copies of a game(except for maybe 1 or 2 that sold it and are re-purchasing it).

No not exactly, what i said was, is that i'm going to wait until i find out more about the game (by renting probably)... i never said i disliked it, i just thought it was a slight improvement rather than the massive improvement (which was the kind of impression i was getting from reading through comments on this and other threads/sites) and the point about the GT update for me is that i'll feel less inclined to rush out and test (or purchase) FM4, whilst i've got GT to occupy my time.

Well, we still think PD didnt listen to US, neither did Turn 10 regarding the forza 3. Differance between we and you, is that we can criticize Turn 10 and forza, while you cant do the same with PD and Kaz, because you think he is some kind of Guru.

For example i dont consider forza 3 to be a particular good game, and i do consider the drag in forza was really bad, due to the rwd traction issue, and unfair advantage of 4wd, that with the couple of glitches that never got fixed, which is a shame. On the other hand, i can say stuff about gt5 aswell.

Yes you would be. The better proposition will be that they considered releasing it at the end of October but decided to release it early to coincide with FM4's launch.

A developer taking a year to get that stuff into the game (a timespan in which other companies release full games), or them holding that stuff back...

Also Dirt3 was well done as well. Race Pro did a good job as well for being an older game. PGR4.

My personal opinion is I cant find one game in the past 2 years that sounds worse than GT5.

In my case, this notion comes from the days before GT5's launch. Back then, some people (some of which are still active here, by the way) were reffering to him as "Master Kazunori" or "Yamauchi-San" and a few other honorary titles.

There's the whole "perfectionist" thing, too.

Could we get this back to the actual thread topic please, as I'm fairly sure its not 'What does Kaz look like then'.

How about this, "they are actually releasing it", complaining about it taking a year is pretty useless now. Epic (Game dev) would have charged you $40 for this, lets just be happy that they are releasing it. There is a saying that goes "Better late than never", people will moan if nothing was done so something is being done.

This. and that other guys comment about game devs coming out with whole games in the time it took GT5 to add this content. I don't think that game devs could put out good games or games of the scale of GT5 in less than a year... Take Fallout for instance. It takes them awhile to make a Fallout game... why? because the scale is just epic.

Nah, I'd rather them just work on GT6 instead so maybe all of the cars can be premiums, fix pixelation issues and give us a better career mode and stop worrying allowing us to get a pic of our avatar with the car or terrible looking standard cockpits for terrible looking standard cars. Just my opinion so please don't thrash me for it. If you enjoy that stuff then good for you but it's not my thing.

Well, minority vs majority. Was there a majority considering rally, go cart, and nascar to be put in gt5? Was there a majority defending the wierd premium car list beeing put in gt5? Was there a majority that stood behind the 1 miljon trading thing? Well no! That only means that PD or Kaz neither listen to the majority or minority, they just implement features that they think people want, and are fairly easy to implement. They also think they can "buy" us with useless content like museum cars, helmets, racing suits etc. All they want us to do is to play the game as much as possible, thats why they release "new" contens the same time as Turn 10 bringing out forza 4. How come for 10 months we havent seen any update like this? Why wait 10 months to implement features "you" wanted, it doesnt make any sence. Explain mr gt...
