Awesome. I sent FRs from my GTP account, so hopefully can get in. I do mostly SPEC stuff including SPEC F1. Got some practice in last night for about half hour but I need a lot more! See you tonight.

Yh how do I sign up then

It is very easy if you follow these steps:

  1. Join the Official GTP_Registry
    • If you are not listed in the official registry you must submit your qualifier before proceeding to step 2.
    • See the GTP_Registry Qualifier - GT5 for complete instructions on how to run and submit your registry qualifier.
    • Once your registry qualifier is submitted and processed you be listed in the registry with a division and handicap and you can proceed to step 2.
  2. Fill out the 3D3 Racing Online Driver Database Entry Form
  3. Send a PSN friend request from your GTP tag PSN account to each of our private lounge accounts: GTP_3D3Racing, GTP_3D3_A, GTP_3D3_B
  4. Review the GTP OLR Rules & Guidelines
  5. Sign up for this event using the event registration form and using your new GTP_ tag PSN ID.

Joe, you have now been added on the GTP_3D3Racing, GTP_3D3_A, and GTP_3D3_B accounts. You may have to restart GT5 in order to see the lobby. 👍

So wait that technically means I haft to start all over again

Yes and no, You just need to create another account with the prefix GTP_

I use both my accounts and trade cars and such back and forth all the time so it's not like totally starting over.

I'd like to ask a favor from the drivers that are taking part in the the event this weekend to support the broadcast on Saturday. I'll be assisting oink in the broadcast of the knockout quali on Saturday as the color commentator and since I haven't run a single lap at GP/F in the F1 car I'm kind of in the dark:

Would you send a PM to me with information I could use to help make educated/meaningful comments.

I'd be interested in the following types of information:
  • Your quali goals: lap times for each round, final grid spot, key competitor you want to beat
  • Driving/Lap Techniques: Trouble/tricky spots in the lap, special approach to any corner/section/sector, biggest keys to the lap
  • Quali Strategy: How you will approach each session.
  • Any other info welcome as well.

Also, if you have any comments on your performance/results from Monaco (good or bad, expectations versus actual) and your goals for the German GP and how you might approach it differently from Monaco to achieve a different result, etc.

Any information you provide will be kept confidential until the broadcast on Saturday. Obviously don't include any information you don't want to be public prior to the race on Sunday... if you send me information we may or may not use it during the broadcast, but it's all in play.

PS> Will accept information right up until Saturday a few hours before the quali session.

I've gotten exactly one response (thank you Bart)... no love for your broadcasters?

Missed that post, I'll send you a PM later Tim.

On my way to the lounge.

Hopefully, a lucky confluence of events will actually let me race Monday morning (I should be able to get away with being late that day, which of course means stuff will have blown up when I get in ) - so I've put myself on reserve and confirmed for quali. Had a quick try on the track and need to find another two seconds :ill:

Hey sorry for stupid question but Q starts at 10 pm uk time right? What time does the lobby open?

Hey sorry for stupid question but Q starts at 10 pm uk time right? What time does the lobby open?
Qualifying starts at 11 PM UK time, the lobby opens at 10 PM.

A few notes for qualification today.

Please read over carefully and ask any questions here in the thread. The race directors are also taking part in the race so we'd like to answer questions prior to the event.

First and foremost, show up in your designated lounge as early as possible and at least 10 minutes. The lounges will be open 45-60 minutes prior to the start of Q1 and this will be announced in the thread and drivers should arrive ASAP after these announcements if possible. If you are running late be sure to post to this thread.

The registration image on the front page of this thread displays a "room" column in the qualifying section which shows lounges assignment for Q1/warmup: A = GTP_3D3_Racing (main), B = GTP_3D3_A (alt).

Mics will be enabled for qualifying. If you are not a race director you are welcome to use the mic during warm up or breaks, but your mic should be disabled/muted during all quali sessions.

With 5 minutes to go to Q1 drivers will be asked to exit the track and clear times from the leaderboard. Exit the track and exit the pits to the lobby. Then to clear times, re-enter the pits and exit to lobby again. Proceed to the watch race session / timing screen to make sure your times are now cleared.

Once all drivers clear their times the race director will ask drivers to enter and remain in the pits. He will check the lounge timer/clock and announce the end time of Q1 (+ 20 minutes). He will open the track via text and/or voice chat exactly 20 minutes prior to this end time (green flag). Drivers cannot enter the track until the green flag is announced.

Once the track is open drivers can run as many laps as desired in 20 minutes and pits are open. When the end time is reached (checkered flag) drivers can finish any lap already started, but cannot start a new hot lap. The race director will attempt to announce "checkered" via text and/or voice chat, but if he is running a hot lap at the time it is expected the drivers will know the end time and will observe the flag manually. Any driver found attempting to complete a hot lap started after the checkered flag will receive a 10 spot grid penalty. If possible a steward will also announce at ~10 and/or 5 minutes to go in the session.

Once crossing the line after the checkered flag drivers should drive slowly around track and proceed directly to the pits. If you abort the last lap proceed directly to the pits. If you wish to end Q1 early, just park in the pits and remain there until instructed to do otherwise.

Once all drivers are in the pits they should remain in pits until given instructions to exit. Stewards will compiled/compare times and announce the results after which drivers can exit to the pits for a short break.

Any drivers who are assigned to the main lounge for Q1, but do not advance to Q2 must exit the lounge immediately upon announcement of the results to make room for advancing drivers. Any drivers who start in the A lounge and advance to Q2 should proceed to the main lounge immediately. Drivers who do not advance are welcome to run practice laps in the A lounge and/or watch the remaining rounds on oink's twitch channel.

Q2 will start as soon as possible after all drivers are organized in the main lounge (about 5 minutes after the end of Q1). Q2 and Q3 will proceed in the same way as Q1 except for shorter duration.

Any questions?

Might not make it for quali, is it still too late to pre-quali?

If there is a steward available to watch it's not too late, but since you waited so late it's kind of up in the air...

Any steward available to observe?

Hey sorry for stupid question but Q starts at 10 pm uk time right? What time does the lobby open?

Use the countdown timer in the OP or the "local" link which should show the start in your local time. The lobbies open 45-60 minutes prior to the event start and will be announced on the thread.

PS> I'm out now... all questions will be handled by the other admins/stewards... See you on the broadcast!
