A as in A-spec or Online-A Challenge?!

Beat you to the OCD update by the way.:sly:

It's called "Online-A Challenge" So I typed that. Yes, it is an A-Spec seasonal. :P

I saw that. Though, I got it through PM to Jordon if it matters. :sly: Are we really making this a contest?

Nah it can't be. I have slower internet so you will win it every time. Just wanted to see my name in lights:dopey:.

I haven't said thanks yet to all the people that are so quick on getting us game updates as quickly as they can. Having said that...

Aaargh! The wife is hogging the TV!

So I love Toyko and like Rome (too flat), Madrid is fun with the right cars. What are the requirements for the races? (PP/RM and such)

No problem. Gotta give the news to the people A.S.A.P., right?

You have a legitimate reason, go get that TV!

I wish I could've grabbed that kind of info, but I was running out of time and now my parents have the TV.

If anyone can supply me with the requirements, I'll throw it in the OP. :)

Thanks. 👍 Quite appreciated.

You already posted it on the front page of the site:dopey:.

Rome 400 PP non-race car.
Tokyo 500 PP non-race car.
Madrid 650 PP

Everything else is unrestricted.

Thanks Blitz. Looks like pretty standard race specs. I'm off tomorrow so I'll definitely be getting that TV back.

What setups did you guys use?

For Madrid I used a Furai, all upgrades and tuned, turned down to meet the 650 pp req. I've just pulled the turbo from my Minolta and turned the hp down to meet 650 pp, so I'm about to try that.

Used a spare Maserati Granturismo S and put slicks on it and a few other upgrades to get it to 500 pp, and for the 400 pp class I used a VW Golf IV GTI which was fully upgraded and tuned...had to turn the engine down to 55% :dunce:

Edit: Furai works better than the Minolta, it hurts it's performance too much being turned down so far. Plus the light weight on the prototype is great on this track.

Edit 2: Wow... Can't say this enough, the Furai is AWESOME on this track. The turned down LMP's feel clumsy and clunky. Lap times with the Furai were 2+ seconds quicker than with the Minolta, both tuned to 650pp and completely optioned out. It feels lots lighter and nimbler, you can brake really hard into corners and it goes like a missile coming out of them, so pushing up to the front of the pack is easy.

In total, including loading/prize claiming times a run around Madrid will take about 7 minutes. 427,000 credits and 52500 xp as standard, or 854,000 credits and 105,000 xp at 200% bonus. i.e. about 61000 credits and 7500 xp per minute (or double that at 200%). Anyone got comparisons for other earners (grinding)?

I haven't even touched it yet. I didn't have anytime. Though I'll see to it tomorrow. Err.. later today for us East Coasters. :D

For the amount of money you get for each race, it just doesn't make sense with those amount of laps going on.

Not doing this until I get the new DLC, of which there is still no sign in the UK despite the scheduled maintenance at 3am this morning (17th). Was going to get a sneaky lap or 3 in before I went to work :(

PS thinking the 2J won't be cropping up as AI competition in the 650 pp seasonal now that the ground effect has been included in the pp calc

they look like fun.
just got out of bed have to go to work now.

This is going to be a long day.... :(

I think you might be right, haven't seen the 2J yet.

This is really awesome cash/xp...

Also waiting for DLC to do these. The new Beetle will be a nice choice at 450pp around Rome.

Madrid is against LMP's? :| Interesting...

Sort of. I've seen the Audi R8 pop up a few times, but the cars are mainly Super GT or JGTC sort of jobs. To be honest by the time you've gotten a decent LMP legal for Madrid they're a bit gutless, and the Furai is much quicker.

I forgot how much fun Madrid was to drive. Nice.

I just wish the race would involve more cars at the front. It's the same old 'rabbit' car at the lead which you have to run down while all the others have been passed 3 laps ago. PD has a very weird vision of what racing is and could be. All in all, the events were pretty simple. Just there for the quick Cr.

Yeah this seasonal seemed pretty easy I won each race first time by quite a bit, wish there were some harder seasonals...
