Madrid (650pp): Full House Aventador on about 635pp. Made first just before the final chicane against a racing Zonda. I'd tried previously without the engine upgrades (because you can't buy/install them trackside) but couldn't beat the BMW. Went away to upgrade the car but of course it wasn't there when I came back. Mind you, I think it would've been a push to beat it in a road car, never mind it had near on 900bhp! Car understeered a bit much for my liking, might try increasing front camber - worked on my Gallardo. Trouble with this race is that there's always at least one or maybe two cars that totally outperform the rest, making it very difficult to win on marginal settings.
Rome (400pp): Boggo Countryman, not even an oil change. Took 3 goes and by then, engine was up to 176bhp for 386pp. I did win by a reasonable margin, so I think it would be doable on the original 175. Didn't push hard enough on lap 1, first time round, thought it was a 5 lapper.
Tokyo (500pp): Not one of my best tracks, this. Was going to detune the Vantage to 500 and use that, but tuned the Countryman up to 466 and won on the second try, after swapping the RH tyres for RM. I can never settle into a proper flow around this track, not matter what the car.
Prize: Apart from the cash, got a nice new Evora '09 for my troubles. Didn't think a level 6 ticket was worth saving.
Can someone tell me what is so good about the 2J? I don't have one but I borrowed it from one of my friends. I don't think it's that great. Are their any special settings for it? Anyway I am using the McLaren F1 race car for Madrid.
The car outperforms against its pp rating, especially in the wet. Don't know if this will still hold true after the 2.03 update, as apparently, the ground effect is to be taken into consideration for the calc, as with other aerodynamic/downforce properties.
Personally, I'm no fan (see what I did there...?) as I'm not fond of the 3 speed gearbox.
