Not So New - Online A-Spec Challenge No.3 [2/15]

Next attempt at the 650 one was using RKM's Ford Falcon. Came 2nd by 5 seconds to the Zonda LM Race car at my first attempt (I'm not exactly a brilliant driver BTW and I'm also using DS3), for my 2nd attempt I reduced the transmission to 180mph and came 2nd by 3 seconds. For my 3rd attempt I exited so I got some new opponents and beat the XJ220 LM Race Car by 11.504 seconds with a fastest lap of 1:19.510.

Going to have a few more goes at this and see how my Falcon goes on against the Ford GT.

Ive been grinding on this SS5 Seasonal to get money and hopefully a Yellowbird. So far best lap time in Takata Dome NSX '03 (worn engine/chassis) is 1:15.702

I can tell you right now, you have no chance against the Ford GT with a best lap of 1:19:510. You need an average of about 1:20 per lap to win. Since the first lap is so slow, you will need laps of 1:17:xxx and low 1:18:xxx to win.
To beat the McLaren F1, you will need to average of about 1:19 per lap.
I have noticed that the AI car lineup seems to be based on the car you are using, so you might not get the GT or F1 in a race. If you do, good luck and keep us updated.

I'm not so sure. I was churning out 1:20 ish laps after a first lap of around 1:24 and won by over 3 seconds against the Ford GT.

400 PP: the Alfa Romeo Spider 3.0i (it was in the previous OCD)

500 PP: the Maserati Gran Turismo (with an occasional tweak to the engine limiter)

650 PP: either the Aventador or the Murcielago SuperVeloce - I've won it with both. Both fully tuned, the Aventador has more HP, the Murcielago is a tad bit lighter.

I don't think I need to be quite that fast but yes, I do need to be a bit quicker.

Just had a go against the Ford GT and only got 1 lap in the 1:19's, the rest were 1:20+ and I was 2nd by just over 2 seconds, so I think if I can get 4 1:19 laps then I think I'll be ok. Will keep at it till I do it!

challenge no3 ss5 is worth 895,200cr and 133,200xp (this includes 200%). It took me 6min16sec. with a best of 1.14.041. If you want to change it up then challenge no2 madrid is worth 854,400cr and 105,000xp every 6min15sec. So means 20,800xp or 16,700 per min. these are the best current grinds for cr and xp.

I used the F1 and passed the AI F1 at the end of lap3, Zonda was third. Easy win.

I stand corrected. The lap average is close but the first lap is not so slow to require the fast laps I quoted. I decided to try the Ford Falcon myself. It has the stage 3 turbo, no weight reduction(1350kg), maximum down force, default suspension settings, the top speed adjusted to 186 mph., 635HP, 637PP and RH tires.
I won the race against the Ford GT on my fourth attempt. My laps were 1:22.482, 1:19.987, 1:21.953(stupid AI car:)), 1:19.124 and 1:19.946. The total time was 6:43.492 and beat the Ford GT(6:46.031) by 2.539 seconds!
I brushed against the GT in the last hairpin turn and then passed it in the next corner. This probably slowed the GT's total time by one or two seconds and the final result would have been very close.
So, i just proved myself wrong about the lap times. Good luck.

Too bad I can't enter the 500pp race with my 400pp Spoon Fit Race car. I would like to see how this little 900kg/ 190hp running on racing soft would do in this 500pp race.

650PP LOSING STREAK OVER!!!

I've had terrible luck trying to clear the 650PP challenge. Upset over constantly failing in the 650PP races, I took out my McLaren F1 GTR and fitted Racing Softs on it. The top cars consisted of machines like the Ford Falcon V8 Supercar, the Corvette C2 race car, and even the Lister Storm GT1 race car. I was able to take the lead on the second lap and blow out the opposition. This race was more about letting out frustration than trying to win another Seasonal. Winning in a blowout surely made me happy. ANYTHING to help you relax your frustrations is something you'll definitely take.

I did the 500PP deal with a different car- the Premium Chevrolet Corvette C5 ZO6. It wasn't until I put Racing Hard tires on it to where I would stop sliding like crazy with the 'Vette. This car finally started to behave after slapping on the Racing tires. And when it behaved, it won.

So I've cleared all of the Online A-Spec Challenges for this one. I had posted this post initially in the wrong thread, so I brought it here. My apologies. I did the SSR5 event thing again with the Ford GT LM Race Car as the leading car. Down by seven seconds on the first attempt and six in the second, I won both races. So that 650PP curse is over for now.

I tried a bone-stock Mustang GT ('08, I think? The one you get out of the Ford dealership), and just slapped racing softs on it for the 500pp race. I think it was somewhere around 450-ish PP, but won pretty easily. So then I tuned it up to the full 500PP, and it just stomps. And it's kinda fun to play around with - you can go with full weight reduction and less power, or full ballast and a ton of power, but either way it's quite a fun car. More fun than I expected.

Try a premium C5 Z06, stock power, lightweight all stage done, racing hard tires.

Just absolutely romped the 650 race in this;

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showpost.php?p=4503163#post4503163

170kg of ballast & 86.6% power brings it to 650pp and it will wipe the floor with everything in the race. I got a best lap time of 1:15.686 and took the lead on lap 3 on both races I had and won both of them my over 15 seconds. The first against the Zonda LM and the second against the GT LM Race Car Spec II (same as the one I'm using)

EDIT - Just done it in my little 283BHP Suzuki GSX-R/4 :D:D

Got to get a race without the Zonda or the Ford GT obviously but I got one and beat the Citroen GT Race Car by 1.033 seconds.

Here's my Suzuki tune;

Suzuki GSX-R/4 Concept

283 BHP
588Kgs

Aerodynamics set to MAX (Rear wing fitted)

Transmission- 168 MPH

LSD- Initial- 20
Accel- 45
Brake- 30

Suspension:

Ride Height- Front -20 (Minus)
Rear -15 (Minus)

Spring Rate- Front 10.5
Rear 8.5

Dampers- Extension: Front 6, Rear 5
Compression: Front 3, Rear 3

ARB- F:4 R:4

Camber- Front 1.5, Rear 1.0

Toe- Front NEG 0.25, Rear NEG 0.10

Brakes- Front 7, Rear 4

This car was Tuned Online, all available mods are fitted, and car is running on Racing soft tyres.

I am lazy/busy, so does anyone have a new updated chart for the best seasonals to run on a credit/minute basis?

This new A-spec seasonal is now the best to run. Race 3 will net you approximately 138k per minute, depending on your time. XP is about 20k per minute. You can check it out in my matrix.

Sounds like fun - I'll give it a go!

ETA: Pretty fun - had to cut power to 320hp, the racing hards made it quite drifty on some of the corners, but still quite an easy win - 14.953 seconds ahead of the 2nd place TVR Griffith.

The 650pp was driving me nuts. They either got a Mclaren F1 race car or Zonda LM or a Ford GT LM Spec, against my GTR. I decided to fight fire with fire and used my F1 race car and won after a few attempts by about 5 seconds.

Had some fun with this event. Used an ever so slightly tuned Honda crx for Autumn Ring. For Nurburg I used my Audi A3 which made it rather an easy win so decided to go back and race with my rx7fc.
For the final race I used the Team PS Audi R8, this race was qite easy racing against a Ford GT LM and the old Ferrari race car, this will be a tougher race with faster opposition.
All my cars were around 50pp less than the max levels set with little difficulty. I'll go back with weaker cars and see what results I can get. Mainly just grinding these fun events so I can buy everything from the OCD XD

Currently using the Mercedes CLK-LM Race Car de-tuned to 650pp for SSR5. Never really raced the car, but it's actually a good bit of fun.

IMO this event is quite easy, I did the autumn ring in a mazda eunos and lapped 12th place in the process, for the nurburgring gp I used a ford focus st and won by 20 seconds, for the final 650pp race I used my nissan r390 race car and overtoke the lead f1 gtr in middle of the third lap, pretty easy wins overall. Its all about finding a decent car if you're struggling and putting consistent lap times in.

The 650 is pretty easy aslong as you avoid the Ford GT. If that thing isn't in the race, then theres a lot of cars that you can win it in, even if you are up against the Zonda or the BMW.

I've won it in the R34 TC, Ford Falcon, Toyota GT One, Ford GT LM Race Car Spec II, Citroen GT Race Car, Mercedes CLK-LM Race Car, Chaparral 2J & the Suzuki GSX-R/4.

EDIT - And I'm not a great driver at all BTW, using DS3 aswell, so if I can win then anyone can!

I tried many "stock" cars untuned except the lightweight with racing hard and i'm enjoying this more than fully tuned cars on racing soft compound.

I just finished the 650pp event using the Zonda C12S 7.3 '02 rated at 583pp. That was a tight race. There is no aero for this car so it can be slick at times. Sliding a little just adds to the fun!

Indeed, especially some of the rear-drive cars - they get quite fun with racing hards or sports softs, but are still competitive for the event.

Which car was on pole position?
