Not So New - Online A-Spec Challenge No.3 [2/15]

I was lucky. They gave me the slower grid.It was the Corvette C5-R and the Camaro LM race car.:)

haha okay, that seems a bit more do-able than if you were up against the GT or the F1...

EDIT: I gave it a try against the Corvette C5-R and the Citroen GT using a 541 pp NSX Type R '02. I won by 0.684 seconds on my first try. A few attempts later, I managed to squeak by the Citroen in the last corner of lap 4 and held on to win by 3.4 seconds.

Sounds like fun - I'll give it a go!

ETA: Pretty fun - had to cut power to 320hp, the racing hards made it quite drifty on some of the corners, but still quite an easy win - 14.953 seconds ahead of the 2nd place TVR Griffith.

Just for giggles, I've been playing with the Mustang some more. Racing Hard tires, full weight reduction, 266hp, 450PP. Just won the event by 0.293 seconds. Pretty happy about that - it was a close one! Tucked under the Esprit 350 right at the last corner, and just nipped him as he went a bit wide on exit.

I've used a few different cars for the 650pp at SSR5. The Epson NSX wins this event easily, even when up against the Ford GT or Mclaren. Just make sure you're lapping consistently but the NSX is capable of 1:13.xxx around here without too many problems.

I like the 400pp Autumn Ring, I take various cars here on Comfort softs, and experiment with radical Suspension Settings using those tires. (like raised & soft front, camber 9.0) Surprised at the stock Toyota GT '12, doesn't oversteer on Comfort tires, or PD just remodeled the tires some times ago. Thank goodness the AI doesn't slowdown stupidly on all the corners, like they did a while ago.

I hope to see a good upcoming Nordschleife seasonal event. A-Spec.

the furai is good for the 650pp if you're up against the zonda lm.

If the ford gt or mclren are on then the event becomes a lot more difficult.

I am having fun with this latest group, but that may be just because I am experimenting more. I used to be adverse to using tires that were that much better than the AI, but now I am digging deep into my garage of premiums and using whatever level of tire I need to have a chance to win. Plus I am using the cockpit view, which handicaps me a bit, and just using tuning to make up for it. Lots of cars in the low to mid 400's that can win the middle seasonal with enough grip.

Just done the race three times, in the Ford GT LM against the BMW = 2nd, in the Nissan fairlady z concept = 2nd, Zonda LM = 1st place half way through 3rd lap. Moral of the story is...Zonda is made for this track :-)

And for all my effort I won a Honda Integra Type R '95 :-(

Have been using the BMW for a couple of days & not lost a race yet..regardless of who's at the front of the grid.

The Ford GT LM is by far the the fastest AI car in the 650pp race and is also by far the best car to use yourself. If you use it and don't win then something is seriously wrong. I'm not great on the game and even I won by about 15-20 seconds in it, and that was against the Ford GT.

Yeah same the nissan r390 rc is another winner, won by 20 seconds against ford gt lm and f1 gtr

I haven't been beaten yet by the F1 GTR. The only cars that have beaten me are the Ford GT & the Zonda.

Yeah they're all pretty similar in terms of difficulty but still they're all easy with the correct car.

Just won the 500pp in 05 Suzuki Swift with Sports Softs and 460ish pp. 1.5 secs ahead of an Esprit. Really good drive for an overpowered fwd and looks great with body kit.

Was trying with the Oulim(?) Spirra v8 but kept going off or spinning even with SS. Achievable with more care.

Anybody use a chevvy camaro ss '10 for this event? I managed a 2:58 good enough for 6000th, just wondering what lap times others managed with it? Also what bhp can you get out of it a 500PP?

For the 650PP race, I used a Mitsubishi FTO Super Touring Car with Stage 3 Turbo and RS tires, putting it at 591PP. The best I could get was 3rd.

However, I wasn't using my wheel at the time so I'm definitely going to give it another shot.

Took a '94 Subaru WRX oil changed only, untuned, power limited to get down to 440pp, put racing hard, and it was a easy win for the 500pp race. The top cars were the Griffith 500 and the Lotus Esprit.

Several attempts at the 650pp race and yet to win. Best was with Ford GT LM plus supercharger and Race Softs: was heading for the win easily catching first place GT spec II on lap 4 but dumped it into the underpass wall. Guess I wasn't in the zone.

First tried the GTR concept LM: what an odd beast. Feels lifeless and dull, even the weird gear change revving gets monotonous.

Have you thought about using GT by Citroen Race Car in races without Le-Mans prototypes? My Bobs are winnig with ease 650PP challenges with this car. And as for me, i haven't tried it for myself yet.
