Nothing was said about allowing you to cut the grass or any white lines. Just that you can enter at "speed" doesn't say how much. Your welcome to go as fast as you can without cutting the line and not having your b-spec reset.

wrong [rawng, rong]
adjective

1. not in accordance with what is morally right or good: a wrong deed.

2. deviating from truth or fact; erroneous: a wrong answer.

3. not correct in action, judgment, opinion, method, etc., as a person; in error: You are wrong to blame him.

4. not proper or usual; not in accordance with requirements or recommended practice: the wrong way to hold a golf club.

5. out of order; awry; amiss: Something is wrong with the machine.

Save you having to look it up. :sly:

Don't know what your on about Cac but I'm not in the mood for it. It's simple do not cross the white lines as stated in the rules. You can enter the pit as fast as you want provided that No.1 rule isn't broken by you or either your b-spec driver.

...So to summarise people, you are more then welcome to enter pit lane at a speed of your choice, but you can NOT cross the white line/cut the grass using the B Spec speed entry glitch. This is always highly frowned upon and will be watched thoroughly

I'm just trying to make sure the rules and peculiar pitfalls of this particular track are concisely explained for the benefit of any drivers who are not veterans of the ORS competition, and therefore have not "been there, done that" before. And while you are correct regarding the white line rule would cover that situation, I believe it's better to spell out what the game does in certain circumstances, and it's legality, or not, as the case may be, "BEFORE" the race, rather than penalise drivers after the race, because they failed to take into account of Rule 6.2.1.1 subparagraph B.

This is your show, and your rules, I'm just trying to help.

Seems that is not required.

Good luck everyone in the competition.

Cac.

Yeah i get what your getting at Cac. Just today I've awoken on the bad side of the bed. My apologies. I always value your input just today i have to many things on to pigeon feed again.

Gentlemen, gentlemen, beers all round, my shout.

Firstly let's agree that some additional information is required for this round as Cac correctly pointed out.

Secondly, the reason it wasn't in Oni's post is my fault.

As Oni can't be across everything, it's up to yours truly to advise Oni of any additional requirements that may need mention in the weekly round post prior to the race. My apologies to Oni, Cac and all drivers participating in the ORS Season 10 for missing this important requirement. :dunce:

For this round, please be aware of the following for pit entry at Le Sarthe.

WARNING – ORS STEWARDS SPEED DETECTION DEVICE IN USE

The practice of entering the pits with no attempt made to slow to a reasonable entry speed for the purpose of gaining time advantage is not acceptable in the ORS series. As we all know, most circuits do have a limit on the maximum speed that entry can occur before you are ‘reset’ negating an excess speed advantage.

However at some tracks like La Sarthe – no reset penalty is in place and time gains can be made by entering the pits at excessive high speed. Please use some common sense here. If your auto drive cannot negotiate the pit entry driveway correctly - you are entering the pits too quickly.

In this instance, we are not setting a specific entry speed. I've found you can hand off to auto drive at around 150km/h and it makes the turn fine - you might be able to go in a little quicker but again, as Mr T stated you can NOT cross the white line/cut the grass using this glitch.

If a driver is found going in to hot and getting a time gain you will be penalised - so please be mindful of this requirement gents. 👍

Hope this clears everything up, looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow night for a great race. :)

Sincerely,

Jas
ORS Committee

What is the minimum laps for the hard tires at la sars ?

Hey Red,
Pit lane opens end of lap 3 for first tyre compound change - you need do a minimum of 3 laps on hards for this round, rather than the usual 5 laps.

Mediums thanks Oni.

Jon, I'm guessing that we both officially missed the 11:59pm tyre nomination deadline. :guilty:

Oni, Could you please confirm our qualifying tyres for tonight please? Hope you like the photos! :sly:

Ying Yang Racing Team are pleased to officially announce Velster as substitute driver to temporarily replace Moon for Rounds 7 & 8. Provided there are free spots available in the room on Monday nights for Wild Card drivers.

Sorry Arie and Jon you guys missed the deadline (granted by a few minutes) so you will have to qualify and start on hards.

As usual Arie those are some great photos you put up. Caught all the action. Just look at Toiv's wheel into turn 1 its a little dirty. He held onto it well.

Cheers. No worries Oni, Fair enough Mate. Understand that rules are rules.

I did have all day to submit my tyre choice. :dunce: That's what you get boys and girls if you leave your homework to the very last minute!?

Le Mans... qualified 11th but had good sector times with others and knew slipstream would help me stay with the pack.

Started well, quite confident, then it got dark and I was scared crapless. Made a mess at the end of the long straight and took minor damage and luckily hit no-one.

Just kept at it and got back to 11th on the last lap even with Mick trying to retake the position and slamming into the back of me haha.

Congrats evan for the win!!

Le Mans, usually not a good hunting ground for me but last night i had an enjoyable race.

Didn't get to place a time in qualifying as i had a few home issues to sort so i started 15th, had some early battles with Oni, Jase, and Asuka that was enjoyable but as I thought I was lagging I held back down the straights and into corners. Touched the grass once into a braking area and went spearing off into the infield but was lucky to get it back on track without spinning or losing to much time.

Flashed the hell out of Jasr with my lights to show him that I was intending on pitting this lap, took 30lr of fuel and put new hards on as part of my race plan, lost time to Jasr and Jol was forever closing, an error out of the last corner onto the main straight meant i ran wide and spun into the inside wall but luckily avoided damage.

Struggling with cold front tyres, Lost and Asuka caught me with two laps to go. Lost got passed me on the last lap, i sat in his draft and made my move down the back straight around the outside but lost returned serve around the outside a few corners later. Lost ran wide with 3 corners left so i made my move but i was lucky enough to be on the inside for the last 3 corners and I managed to hold him off

I had afew offs myself at the straights into the heavy braking once even missed the marker and ended up sanding it a few little cuts at the chichane but went well wide on exit trying to get back to racinf line that last chichane is hard for me to pin point being partially colour blind and all the bright colours. Did a 2nd pitstop was in 5th way ahead of jasr so woulda cuaght toiv easy if didn't make that extra pitstop started 9th finished 9th. Had serveral good battles. Arie taital jol vh mick hate the track but all in all a good race

Hey all.

Thanks all for a great nights racing, i had a dream race.

I went into last nights race with a race plan and it worked perfectly. I wasn't sure of opposition lap times or tyre wear but I knew that there was no way I would get away with a one stopper. Even with hards I was only getting a max of 8 or 9 laps, the Ford is terrible on any tyre with 2/3 wear. So the best thing to do is split the 17 laps into 2x 6 laps on meds and if I had a chance of a podium then a 5lap sprint at the end or if I had a crap race shift to hards for the last 5laps.

Didn't get a great start and really had to push hard to stay with cac and red with there AWD's rocketing out of the first couple of corners and also try and keep Jol at bay, who was also pushing to keep up any stay with the lead pack.

After the first couple of chicanes we opened up a small buffer and cac missed a brake marker, red and I shuffled back and forth and over the next couple of laps and opened up a good lead.

I pitted after 6 laps and put on another set of meds. Left the pits and was still in second (just) on cold tyres fighting for position. Motored on for another 6 laps chewing away at reds lead, wondering when he was going to pit, and pushing as hard as I could to distance myself from 3rd place onward.

Red pitted lap 12 and so did I. He had to wait for ages for more fuel. I zipped in and threw on some softs and just 8lts of fuel and left just behind him.

Rounded him up in a couple of corners and then set my sites on JTV.
Didn't take long with the softs, then just cruised home. Happy days

I was glad red didn't decide to throw softs on as well, might have been a different story. 5laps on softs and they were trashed. But I had a big enough buffer to get me home,

Nice battle Red. If this car was gonna win a race, this would be the only track to do it in. To slow out of corners but very stable under brakes and high speed corners.

Evan

Unfortunately i didn't get to see any of the race. However it sounds like you had a great strategy and drive that paid off. So i'd like to congratulate you on your first (of many) 1st place podium in the ORS series. Good work mate. Shows that taking the time to plan and practice your race can pay off.

Well done to Evan. Great race plan that worked perfectly.

Firstly i need to apologise to everyone. Unfortunately I broke the rules in regards to tyres. I don't think it advantaged me, but rules are rules. I realised after the race at what I'd done and both Oni and Jas were notified straight away.

My race started well and my plan was Dont run off the track first lap, and don't hit anyone. That went to plan and I settled into the pack. Night time came and I seemed to reel in jol and lost rather quickly. I could see that they were missing there brake markers, but the lower hp on the SLS meant I couldnt grab them out of the corners. Finally got passed them both when daylight came then decided to pit on lap 8. I got too eager to make sure no fuel went in and accidentally hit ok before I selected anything. It put hards back on and 35 litres of fuel. After leaving pits I was coming up to the first straight when i braked for the corner and got slammed from behind. The car behind must of thought I was on meds, and as I was on fresh hards, I had to brake earlier. The car was damaged but still drivable. After that I raced no one. Was by myself for the rest of the race.

And here was my mistake. I got so caught up in the race and in trying to keep jas behind me, I completely forgot to change to mediums. I'd only done hard/hard. Stupid me only read the rules just before the race and completely missed the last line of the tyre rules.

Oh well. Hopefully next week the SLS can get a little closer to the front.

See you all next week.

Hey ONI, I will starti on hards. I've done a little testing, I average mid 1.58s with the best cracking into the 1.57 high.

Ev

Evan i hope you meant 47 high. Best time i've done around Monza is a 1:47.387 in the Viper with a 1:47.700 in the GTR. Times are on mediums.

ORS GT | SEASON 1 | PRE RACE BRIEFING

Round 6 we cross the border into Italy for a 48 lap race around the Monza circuit.

ORS_GT_S1_R6_zpsc1be701c.jpg

The ORS white line rule applies at all times during qualifying and racing. Pay special attention to all the chicanes and corners coming onto the back straight. If you are found to be cutting corners consistently or frequently then you will be penalised by the stewards. Penalties can range from point deductions, 1 race bans and up to disqualifications from the entire ORS GT season 1. Ensure you have read all the rules in the opening post (page 1).

Regarding pit entry, if you enter the pits at full speed your car will get reset costing you valuable time. I would suggest entering between 120-150kph. When exiting the pits please use common sense when you merge onto the racing line. Remember the car behind has right of way when you exit the pits.

If you do have an off be wary of the reduced grip level once you've rejoined the track. Also when rejoining, please aware of your position on the track relative to your fellow races. Drivers rejoining the track must give way to race traffic and not become an obstruction.

You must ensure your car is set to the ORS GT Specifications as shown on page 1 before scrutineering begins. Once scrutineering has started you are prohibited from entering the tuning screen. Failure to comply will result in an immediate -15 point penalty each time you enter the tuning screen. Failing after race scrutineering will incur a -25 point penalty.

The following drivers need to ensure they are carrying the below ballast for Monday night.

evan1080 - 35kgs (1415kg)
redness-63 - 25kgs (1405kg)

Failure to comply can results in 1 race bans to removal from the series.

Also I'd like everyone to be aware that the chat channel should not be used during the race as this can cause distractions to other drivers. If you make a mistake and need to apologize for it then i suggest you PM those involved. The chat channel should only be used by stewards to call race restarts.

Now finally all drivers must make sure they submit their tyre choice for qualifying/race start by 11:59pm tonight. Once your tyre choice has been submitted you cannot change it.

Regards,

Oni
ORS Committee
