I am planning on turning up tonight Oni, happy to start in a T3 car as i never had time to do the quilifying round.

Thanks

Velly

Good to see you joining us velly :)

Just a suggestion, as you do have the pace to be in tier 2, and tier 1, would it be a good idea to rock up with all the cars setup if you have the time and effort? I only suggest this due to the fact that for some reason, 1 tier may have less drivers than the others, and it would be good to try even up each tier as best we can to prevent a tier having a boring race. Just a suggestion, you are obviously busy these days so probably a stupid suggestion, just thought I would mention it :)

Happy to do that Rota... I was hoping to get a T2 drive at the least if i did the qualifying hehehe.
sure I will come with all the toys and happy to fill in any gaps :)

Cheers for the heads up Velly.

As rota said it would be great if you had both a T3 & T2 car ready. While you do have the choice of racing in either of those tiers it's best that you slot into a tier that is low on drivers come race night. Keeps the tiers even and the battles exciting.

Tonight you will be in T3 so have your Italia prep'd and spec'd to ORS regulations. MrT will be joining us tonight as well and will be in T2. I've updated the race starting order in the post above.

Ask away if you have any questions.

Hey All,

By sheer luck I was the last one left standing in the race last week after every one else got booted out of the lobby.

As most would agree, there are some very nice looking cars lining up on the grid for Season 8. Here are some nice snap shots from the race:

Some nice shots there Asuka 👍
PS: Pre-Race practice room now open in my lounge for ORS'ers if anyone's keen. :)

Well if there's one thing that came out of last nights race it is my consistency, when i had a clean lap i would go very close to matching the previous lap, at the same time i had a few issues with spinning, i probably spun about 6 of 7 times, sadly two of those times was in the path of velly and moon (apologies guys). The only issue i had, was with the RX8, everytime i overtook or had one behind me i would make errors. It was good fun just to nuckle down and concentrate on driving clean, loving the new tyre wear as it means it's a longer run.

Race defining moment? Spinning and hitting the wall head on whilst following Oni at the left hander heading up the hill.

Hey guys
Great race last night.
Man i wish i hadn't made that mistake on lap 44 putting wrong tires on and then had to pit again on lap 45 to put the right tires on...I lost 50 to 55 seconds because of it.
Oh well such is life..I learned a lot.

Well, what can I say....what a great race that was! Thank you so much everyone for making that possible.

It is so great to be able to have such close and clean racing! Thank you again!

My race was full on....I think I must have spent 17 laps trying to overtake Oni (mate...you make that car look very large on the track...lol...well done there). In several ocasions we were side by side for a few corners and still coudn't get pass (once, we went up the hill and did the corkscrew side by side...no touching! great stuff :))

Had some good fights with other guys too...it was great having all 3 tiers at some points fighting for position.

One of the biggest moments for me was loosing control 5 laps to the end...was leading with a 11sec gap to Oni, managed to come back and avoid any damage, 3 sec in front of him....those pants are going straight to the bin...lol

Looking forward to the next one (although I am still recovering...that was hard man....60 laps were freaking hard...lol)

Cheers All,

A great race, it was the first time I drove the car. Thanks to rod for the set up, worked a charm! Made so many mistakes...then got caught up in Mr T's accident but wasn't too fussed as I made a mistake on my first pit stop that I forgot to Change tyres! The car was going well, look forward to driving it again.

So many good battles throughout the night, great fun

Gents,

Friendly reminder.

Please ensure you check the Race Results table (link located on Page #1, Post #2) before next weeks race, as along with points, Oni has kindly handed out ballast :yuck: to some of the luckier drivers, and they (us) will need to have it fitted during next weeks event at Indy Road Course. :)

There was some great racing last night and some well deserved 1 place podiums for Rod, Cac and Rota. Once again congrats guys.

For myself i was a little disappointed in my overall pace and consistency. I made quite a number of minor mistakes and a few large ones which cost me a lot of time. Also my overall pace was way off practice which added to the disappointment. The opening laps trying to pull away from Jase then having Rod in my mirrors looking for a way around my "large" car made for some great battles.

After my first pit stop i was hoping to get into a rhythm and push for the lead again. Only to find i was pushing to hard and fighting with the car the whole 60 laps. I'm looking forward to Indy and hope to get into a rhythm to enjoy more battles up front and throughout the field.

Memorable moments.
One would be racing side by side up the mountain and through the corkscrew with Rod. We were almost touching mirrors going through those section and managed to not even hit each other. Excellent driving there mate.

Second would be battling with Taital for a few laps till he touch the sand and implanted the nose of his Corvette into the wall along the back straight.

Now onto Round 2 buisness.

As per the regulations with the ballast handicap. The following drivers will need to add the required ballast below for Race 2.

Tier 1
Rod_AUS - 35kgs
Oni_chan - 25kgs

Tier 2
Rotamasta - 35kgs
Jol_1 - 25kgs

Tier 3
Cactass - 70kgs
Velster - 25kgs

Rotamasta7
holy **** why does cac get 70kgs???

To be fair this maybe harsh, I had a bad race and think I would have been up with cac or even past him lol.
Lets see what the next race will bring...but give him less of a pen and see how we fair up on the track...

Also consider that Spinner wasn't able to race as well on Monday. He would have undoubtedely been within the 25 second time window.

Original post states that ballast is "subject to assessment of the race".

Also cac-a-doodle-do did battle spin the whole time in the test race so asuka is right, but spin is a wild card. We will see how it goes

Sorry guys for the no show on Monday night, but it looks like my sporting team night has been shifted to Monday's and the draw is all over the place. Making it really hard to get home in time.
Unfortunatly I'll have to vacate my full time seat in tier three and go to the wild card list on hopefully pick up a drive when I have a early draw.

Not happy

Fastest Lap too...result :)

Don't get to happy yet. They are just preliminary results. Still waiting on confirmation regarding if said fastest lap was clean for those involved.

Also with Cactass's 70kgs ballast penalty this is also preliminary. It's better to be prepared for 70kgs than 35kgs. Currently waiting on Jase's observations.

ORS | SEASON 8 | PRE RACE BRIEFING

For round 2 we continue the American theme and head over to Indianapolis Road Course for a 75 lap race.

ORS_S8_Round2.jpg

A few corners people need to be mindful of not cutting are turns 8 and 11 (highlighted). This doesn't mean you can cut other corners. The standard ORS rules of 2 wheels must stay within the white track edge lines applies at all times for all tracks during qualifying and racing. If you are found to be cutting corners consistently or frequently then you will be penalised by the stewards. Penalties can range from point deductions, 1 race bans and up to disqualifications from the entire ORS season 8. Ensure you have read all the rules in the opening post (page 1).

Regarding the pit exit around Indianapolis Road make sure you do not cut the pit exit line. Also when joining be mindful of cars approaching. The car behind has right of way so please you common sense when entering turn 1 to avoid any collisions. You may enter the pits flat out around Indy without being penalized. Therefore you are not required to reduce speeds when entering the pits.

If you find yourself off the track be mindful when rejoining, please aware of your position on the track relative to your fellow races. Drivers rejoining the track must give way to race traffic and not become an obstruction.

Now finally all drivers must make sure they submit their tyre choice for qualifying/race start by Sunday night. Once you tyre choice has been submitted you cannot change it.

Regards,

Oni
ORS Committee
