boomeeNordshleife is fun so what if its not perfect if you need a perfect sim go get another game thats not what this is about its a great and fun expereience. Nuff said
Once you accept "the most realistic racer ever" tag line is a lie, the game is pretty good. The same goes with the tracks.

Its not a failsafe formula though and I do know that some of them are better than others
One thing I do know though, is that this is quite possibly the worst driving game ever made
Its shocking!

Agreed, was trying to adapt its input lag, and I totally gave up. To be honest, driving in shift 2 will ruin your driving skill in others sim. I couldn't make a smooth round in forza 3 after playing shift2, took me couple of races to re-adapt forza's driving style, but I got no prob at all when changing from gt5 to forza 3, they are pretty much the same...
Btw, shift 2 is the first 'sim' that I could exit corners at full throttle without getting oversteer ... calling this game is a 'sim' is just ******** for this reason, I used elite driving setting, Fanatec GT2 with clubsport pedals.
i strongly disagree. I play shift 2 all the time and can play gt5 just fine.

There is no other game, that's the "problem". GT5 may have better layout, but it sounds bad and cars have no such detailed dashboards. And as you mentioned, shift2 is fun and exciting. That's more important to me than a missing bump or graffiti.
It's not perfect, but right now, nothing comes close, if you look at the whole package.
@alfaV6boy: That's a variation of Stockholm Syndrome, very common among fanboys. Not just the GT crowd either, just visit any fansite, whether it concerns games, cars or whatever product.
I myself prefer to play all racing games (and I find most people here in the Shift forum are alike). The only thing that is stopping me from getting an Xbox 360 and FM3 (and maybe 4 later on), is the fact that I can't use my G25 there (and no, I'm not going to shell out on a Fanatec wheel + pedals, the wife will have my head ).
much less forgiving than other versions that I have played....
I does make me chuckle when GT5 fanboys can sit there slating Shift 2's Nordschlefe, when GT5 has 800 cars......800! CARS!...................which are standard....which we all know......means NO INTERIOR VIEW......LAST GEN, cut from GT4.......
Thats 80% of the game!!!!!!! L O L......
And they can pick on Shift 2 for missing out some graffiti on Nords......planks.... go figure.
