I'd say high 21s will be a luxurious time. I see 22s being the norm.

On the privious page tony1311 said 21's is defenetly doable, and pole will probably be a high 20...

That's a FAST guy speaking :)

How long is the qualifying session open for tonight? My times are high 23s in a car that isn't broken in yet.

Any one of the available stewards can qualify you. Just see who's on when you're on.

I'll be at work in 7 hours but I'll be back around 3AM EST.

Btw, you guys can view the spreadsheet we'll be using to input times at this link: click

the new spreadsheet for qualifying looks great.

btw, how is that wsgtc logo coming along?
i remember you were thinking about making a smaller logo too.

i am going offline now but if another steward is around he will watch for you, i will open another room tomorrow, hopefully earlier :)

I won't have time for a lap the next few days, hopefully I can find one of you within the next hour. I'll have a room open soon.

EDIT: thanks Wardez, I'll pm you in a bit, if I don't find you online

Only 2 drivers did quali on Monday? Looks like a crowded wednesday coming up again :)

I will have to do my quali on Tuesday since I'm busy for the rest of the week..

I'm planning to open up a quali/practice room at 3 PM (CET) to around 6 PM (CET), and do my lap in that window when I feel my pace is good. So if anyone else also want to quali/practice, feel free to jump in 👍

I guess the time is a tad early for the guys in the far west, but I hope for some europeans to show up.

I'll post the roomnumber when I put it up in about 9-10 hours. I will use a new post for that, just to let you know.

Oh, don't know why I thought we get bonus points for participate, but I guess we don't. Talking in regarts to Wilhelm, where its said it doesnt matter if he is on the result page. I'd still like to see him there, just so we can see he took the time to join and race with us, and get credit for it in that way.

Also it would be easier to count started races that way, if there will be need to find a tiebreaker. And it would be easier to find errors in the points, as now its quite a mystery (if you didn't race in D2) how Wilhelm gets rep points, when he isn't even in the result page from that race.

Another thing, how many laps do you have to complete to get rep points? Only asking because GTP_afrikan_kat didn't get any, and only completed 1 lap, and Wilhelm got rep points for completing his 18 laps - where is the breaker?

Sorry for talking about the very small things that all most probably doesnt matter, but I'm in for consistency and proper resultpresentation.

If you participate in the race, you will recieve rep-points, 1% or 100% of the race does not matter. As for GTP_african_cat he got DC'd before the race started (If I'm not mistaken), and will therefore not earn any rep-points.

But I agree on that we should put up any driver who started the race (Beeing on track when the race has begun (formationlap does not count)).

So I guess wilhelm1098 should be in the final table, but without any points. How does that sound?

i got dc'd in the race - 1st lap, not formation. But i'll understand if no points are awarded

Jeez! I really hate disconnects. I've been bogged down by them at every race I've tried to organize post-1.06. Now with .07 it seems to be even worse! With every race I've started lately there seems to be at least one person that only sees half the cars actually on track, if they're lucky, then the other half just keep getting disconnected. I have to keep trying to re-host the room till we get good comparability.

I'm just assuming at this point that there's something off with Polyphony's server infrastructure. I appreciate that they went through all the trouble of setting up GT Online on their own, I just wish we knew what was up.

Yes, I've also got the feeling that DC's are more common since the 1,07 update. I got DC'd from the race room last race at Suzuka. Had to start a new room because of it.

Could it have anything to do with running the room "not fixed"? Because it happens when people are joining and leaving the room a lot. Like the case when the room is new, and a lot of drivers connect at the same time, and some DC's or having trouble getting in to the room. Seems like the room is unstable at that point.

GTP_african_cat got DC'd after the race had begun. So he will earn rep-points and should also be in the final standings, but with 0 Championship points.

3 people have qualified so far Deni.

Non-fixed mode doesn't have a server infrastructure. It's entirely P2P. Each player is connected directly to each other player.

Well, Denilson said he would have one by announcing it in a new post so you can expect that within a few hours. If not I'm sure one of us will have a room up you can qualify in.

i will be on in about an hour might have a game on killzone3 1st but il deff be around for 9pm gmt prob even earlier etc.

Remeber stewards are:
Denilson/Chorda
Nycrom
Wardz
Andil
Plus me hehe

They can all watch someones lap.

Plus wardez i like how youves added comments on the spreadsheet 👍

Finally made it to sec 26:). Yay

Really strugling with this week's track.

But finally made a setup change that made my car drivable, even if it's stil slow. But at least i can keep it out of those walls.

Actually i think the setup change i made is the same i made to my lexus in pre season. :dunce: wish i remembered that earlyer.

Care to share what was wrong. Not asking for exact numbers. Just curious what the car was doing and what changes you made to remedy it.

With an hour testing. I am still 2 seconds off pace. I know of three turns that I can pick up substantial time if I could get my exit right each time.

No problem.

My car was suffering from TTTOOOOO much oversteering. I think i hit every wall on this track by now, by having my rear going loose on me.

Like Wardez said, the key is to mess with the ride height. I have mine on 0 F 5 R.
I think i use the same values on the Lexus too. I might try to tweak a little more. Or not, i'm afraid of messing up the setup :sly:.

Yeah it's mostly about getting the right ride height symmetry.

Trying to put one higher than the other, at different average heights proportionally to each other to find the right travel will get your car settled to a nice comfy neutral state.

I'll be opening up a room in about an hour if there's not one open already. Going out for lunch. 👍

Hmm, I've been trying to solve the same problem by balancing the aero. Ride heights probably works better in more situations.

I still have the feeling that there's something funny about the way the track is modelled in GT5, but that's just something we have to work with I guess.

Hey man! Thank's for the pointers on setup! This game can go so far away from how you set a chasis up in real life that is easy to get lost in looking for an efective tune.
BTW, I'd like to do my quali tonight if youre available. Did some laps online last night and got down to 29:169 with room for improvement so a 28:6xx is within reach(was on my way to that time before I lost it all on the last sector).
I feel that time could put me on the GT300 field.
Let me know if we fcan do it!

Come join us if you want to quali tonight, Jav.

Tony and Senninha just set effective pole-position benchmarks for GT500 and GT300 respectively, I think :P

 Senninha 1:26.0 in GT300. Best I've been able to do so far is in the high 1:26's while taking big risks, staying on the throttle through turns and hoping for the best...
