I presume matty drove for Red Bull this weekend. Any mistakes, just send them my way and they'll updated for next week.

Got standings up early for you guys as a thank you.

EDIT: From next week, I shall start excluding your two worst points finishes / most recent DNS.

That was a fast lap! 👍

Looking at the results, it would seem we battled it out the whole race. When in reality we never even saw each other.

Yea lol. And i did 2 or 3 little mistakes + there was a lot of traffic in my 2nd stint. That cost me the 3 secs gap at the end i think...

No I drove the #18, and I won't be credited for Driver Points in Nationwide as I have decided to try make the Chase for Sprint Cup. It's unlikely but Drop convinced me to.

Since I had done no testing before entering the lounge and only had a combination of Daytona and Darlington tunes in hand, it was a pure miracle that I somehow found the setup for a 3-stop race, and not only that, but could also lap 48's on a perfect run.

In the quali I had a 49.009, good enough for 2nd place though I constantly tried to break the pole time by pitting over and over again for fresh tires, but the chase was fruitless. In the race, Joe overhauled me into the first corner, and later I also got passed by Niop before the first pitstop. After I rejoined the track, I managed to hold my position just ahead of Mule, but ran into an incident with Jakob and lost the position, though Joe and Niop fell behind with their later stops.

I started losing tires badly and pitted 12 laps from the previous stop, but to my pleasure, even though Trynor was on a 2 stopper, I was promisingly catching up and passed him on track before he pitted for the 2nd time. When I did my 3rd stop, I just fell behind him, but was ahead of Joe and Mule (while Niop had suddenly switched to 2 stops) and gave chase. On my first attempt Trynor defended hard, but fairly - the next lap I managed to get through after his error at the first corner. The race wasn't over though, as Joe was right there, closing the gap, but I believe that it was Matty, who joined the track just behind us with fresh tires, who kind of allowed me to gain the required gap on the last lap to finish 3rd. He passed me in the final corner (nicely giving space over there) but that didn't bother me, because the 2nd podium of the season was now true. :gtpflag:

As we approach the final 4 races of this season, I look forward to welcoming you folks back to a new series that I will be launching at the end of this season. Nationwide will be back for S2 in August. I bid farewell to many of you fortunate drivers will be selected for the Cup in next season's draft and may well be picked to race in the Sprint Cup's Chase this season in advance but why not come along to this:

5 weekend series from the 16th June to the 14th July.
15 round series. No rounds may be dropped.
Same timeslot.
Oval based.
As many as 5 Championships to be settled.

...and most intriguingly new machines.

All but three drivers in the field are already dropping 2 race results, since they have at least two events with a final result of 0 points.

The three drivers with enough starts to still drop non-zero race results are:

Carbonox - 93 (dropping 12, 11)
TRYNOR - 87 (dropping 7, 0)
D4LVY - 60 (dropping 5, 0)

If Sprint Cup drivers' points counted, MULE would be tied with Carbon with 93 points (dropping 0, 0), and Joe would be running away with 112 points (dropping 0, 0).

Hey Stewards! Is it ok to run off of Turn 6 @ Grand Valley and go onto the lighter grey area shown below on the mini-straight between Turn 6 and 7?
LEFTTURN.jpg

EDIT: PS: I forgot, was practicing earlier. Fastest lap: 1:03.859.

Normally, I would say no, but since the rule here is that you're allowed to run wide, I wouldn't be surprised if you could. You're not cutting the track.

You are not in breach of cutting the track there. Slightly disadvantage if you take to the run-off there and its an incredibly narrow straight.

4 rounds Carb.

EDIT: As Mule correctly stated.

Run offs like this are exploited in DTM all the time, for example. I'm sure if IRL NASCAR were running here, it would be expected.

Same would be Deep Forest grey patches if it was run here.

The way my car is running, coming into turn 6, you've gotta lift to avoid the run-off. When I don't lift and go onto the run-off, I get a better run into turn 7.

Infineon turn 5 is the classic example of that. V8 Supercars love using runoff as well.

Seeing as we're again running on a road course, I'm expecting to reach the podium once again at the expense of the likes of Joe. :sly:

I'm actually in the 1:02.3 with my Suzuka setup. Need to work a bit on my tune for catch a mid 1:01 ;)
Thats quick, but hows the tire wear? I'm currently slugging away with 2.1's with good tire wear.

I may be unable to make the race on Sat cause of a soccer final. I should be home in time but celebrations may be in order and that could run past 7..
