Anybody out there following the Grand Am?

Dion Von Moltke will be driving the AJR Audi R8 at Daytona. The other drivers for the 24 are Filipe Albuquerque, Oliver Javis, and Edoardo Mortara.
3 DTM aces? Audi are awfully nice to their customer teams

Hawkeye122: But, still not my French-Canadian-German fellow multi-culturalist DTM Champion awesome guy. Yes, let it be clearly known, I am a Spengler fan. And, yeah, Mortara and the rest aren't fast enough for DTM wins.

Yeah, the 24 he kinda turned some cars into a pinball for some reason. If I'm honest though, Rojas has been even worse then Montoya and he's the one actually racing for the title.

Ganassi makes Mortara look slow and consistent. Too much of this "I don't care about this, I want to win every race, set fastest lap, and forever be known as Scott Vettel, because I can set fastest lap time by rolling over Starworks cars." It needs to stop.

Obviously I like Spengler, but I was desperatley hoping Hand would do better than he did the DTM, maybe not his fault, but I hope he's on a long enough contract to give him chance to succeed.

I didn't see the Indy race earlier this year so I can't really comment, JPM's always been an 'aggressive' type of driver though, but he's proven twice ('07 & '08 (and oh so nearly in the astonishing finish to the '09 race)) that he's got the required skills to race, and win, in Grand-Am - so I don't think he has much too much to prove. Maybe just needs to keep his momentum in check a little more.

Also, joking aside, suspension failure put Monty into the Jet Dryer... jus' sayin'.

Still more proof of Ganassi... And, yes, give Hand a long enough time to at least understand the rules of DTM; he led at Norisring, and came close to winning. I don't think speed is his problem. I think the starts, restarts, pit stops, and the general "mundane" aspects of racing let him down.

Aces? Mortara? I still disagree.

Don't tell me you still believe Montoya started that whole thing at Indy. Again, that was Ryan that started that by running Montoya into the grass. I know Montoya is aggressive, but its one-sided to blame Everything on him.

Also, I'm sure its ONLY Montoya ( and Roja's when he gets desperate) that overly aggressive, not all of the Ganassi drivers.

Scott Pruett is a good driver, but Montoya and Memo give Ganassi a bad image in Grand Am. I do think Montoya was in the wrong for crashing Dalziel at Indy just because the 02 car was not in any position for the championship. Personally, I was more mad when the Stevenson Camaro was crashed by Memo.

Memo drives like the honey badger... he doesn't care. Pruett has been a consistently clean and fair driver in the time I've been watching.

I agree. Scott Pruett is a class act of a driver. Memo drives like Westy did at Belle Island last year.

Agree 100% 👍

Back to Montoya and others.
I remember when Fogerty in the red dragon had his moments too.
No so lately.

Oh, and don't forget Max the Ax.

I love the series and it's participants, it can be very exciting at times.
I'm looking for a great year of racing and have my Lime Rock tickets already.
ALMS and the final Grand-Am race, ever, I guess.

Merry Christmas to all :)

He was racing hard, but Dalziel put himself in that position by putting him in the grass and getting himself spun out, don't see how you can expect a driver to suddenly stop in grass thats still wet from the rain. That 02 was there to assist Ganassi for the other championship, the NAEC just like the second Starworks car was there as well). Again, its not entirely Montoya's fault.

Counting all the entries in each class I have:
14 DP entries
33 GT entries
7 GX entries

That does include some entries are yet to be filled.

In the DP class we are yet to announce the drivers for the #6 and #60 MSR cars and the drivers in the #8 Starworks Motorsport.
In the GT's, TRG is to announce their drivers but I do know theirs 3 TRG cars (#66, #67 and #68). Muehler Motorsport is to announce their #19 pilots. And though he does not have a number Nick Tandy will be racing with, as we all know, Orbit Racing.
And the only unfilled seats in the GX class is the #00 and #36 SpeedSource Mazda's.

With numbers like that is it possible for any more new teams to come? So many new entries arrived in the last week that I found.

I've been to Rolex 24s that have had 70 plus cars once. The ctscc race at Daytona has had 100 cars in it before when I was there watching.

Boo hiss.. :( No live stream?

None that I know if. grand-am.com might show it, but they haven't announced it on the website.

DP news: Jim Lowe has found a sponsor for select events in 2013 including the Rolex 24. That puts the DP car count up to 17 for the 24.

But why? Surely someone is there filming anyway, and I'm sure that Radio Le Mans or somebody would be willing to commentate

Wish I knew myself, but they never have for whatever reason.

Heck, I'll do it for free. Someone go to it, and FaceTime me so then I can re-broadcast and commentate.

If I lived in Daytona Beach, or close enough where it wouldn't be way out of my way, I would take you up on that offer. grand-am.com will have the session results along with a few short videos.

Can you find us lap times, too? The fastest guys @ Roar have the best setups, and setups often help win 24.

Those will be on the session results page in the roar event tab on grand-am.com
