Anybody out there following the Grand Am?

Im not entirely sure how this should work. If someone goes, They can skype me and then just add them to the conversation? I feel like that would be way laggy

That might work. Someone could video the test and email it to you. From there, you can add commentary. I know that you can do that, but I have no idea how

Hmmm. I'm wondering if there's any chance of the Corvette DPs getting some new C7 bodywork. Then again, it wouldn't look all that different from now, would it?

Good God! That second picture in Post #1114 is gorgeous! The Daytona Prototypes have really come along beautifully over the years. Many of them used to be the ugliest sacks of s:censored: on four wheels. The newer generation DPs are very nice looking.

As for the newer Corvettes, I'm not sure how they will look since we don't have a concrete idea of what the road-going model will be like. Until we see the retail C7, I don't think the 'Vette DPs aren't going to change looks any time soon until the retail C7 is unveiled.

That's the new Michael Shank racing #6 car. The #60 looks almost exactly like it.

I am warming to Grand Am more now. Definitely will be watching more in 2013.

It's slowly but surely growing in popularity. The merger with ALMS, if done correctly, will only make it even more popular.

The Rolex 24 will have at least 17 DP cars in it this year. That's 3 more than last year.

Also, I found a picture of the 8Star Motorsports Corvette DP.

Mate, it's the best thing to watch on this side of the ocean. On your side, maybe. Beats Formula 1, at least. But, then again, I'd pick BTCC... maybe. I dunno.

Never that much of a F1 fan tbh, NASCAR didn't have its greatest season last year but 2013 promises much more. Grand Am is growing and with the ALMS merger it can only get stronger.

Do you have a favorite team, and have you ever gotten a chance to watch the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge, the feeder series to the Rolex series?

None really. Stop the questioning, you sound worse than a NASCAR one driver fanboy :P, conti is the series with the fiestas is it not?

I usually like teams like Suntrust Racing and Texas' own Gainsco. There's still no stopping Ganassi in the DP ranks. I am usually fond of the Mazdas in the GT ranks. However, I found it very fun to follow the GT3 machines, especially the likes of the Ferraris and those gorgeous Audis. This year's lineup of cars should be very intriguing in Grand-Am.

I'm sorry to say that Mazda has pulled its support to the RX-8 GT. There still might be a car or two in the Rolex and the season, but no speedsource RX-8. Mazda has put all their eggs in the new GX class basket. They are backing the Mazdaspeed6 Skyactiv Diesel. There will be about 3 of those including a speedsource car.

Audi will have more cars this year. Ferrari will have more full season teams. DP is looking like another Starworks v. Ganassi fight unless Wayne Taylor (formerly SunTrust) Racing and Gainsco/Stallings.

Krohn Racing still going?

Not at the moment. Tracy Krohn and Lola got into a lawsuit involving the chassis they made. Since the DP was upgraded, Krohn hasn't bought a new chassis or upgraded his "lawsuit Lola". He is driving a TRG Porsche in the Rolex 24 this year.
