Anybody out there following the Grand Am?

Shinshiki

Hey shin. Good to see you on here again :).

My road Atlanta plans fell through this year, but I am 99% going next year because I'll be living closer to the track when I'm in college. I think traffic through turns 2, 3, and 4 will be a major factor like it usually is.

Anyone going to Road Atlanta? I hope to get in and have my tent set up by the time qualifying starts at 3. Look for the REI Kingdom 6 tent, probably at turn 5. :)

Top 10 cars in DP are within a half second of each other in first practice. This race is going to be awesome :)

Looking at the race, The drivers I think has the biggest advantage is:

1. Any Porsche Factory Driver
2. Scott Pruett
3. Stephane Sarrazan
4. Ryan Dalzial
5. Bill Auberlin

Pretty much, just these drivers here have THE Most experience at this track.

Bill Auberlen will be in Long Beach for the ALMS race, Billy Johnson is subbing for him.

Ah damn, I forgot the ALMS race was this week as well. Next year we won't have this problem

Your right, we will lose one of these events probably.

I have no idea why but everytime I hear a car called mustard or ketchup, I laugh a little.

Rain cancels qualifying, Ganassi drivers Memo Rojas and Scott Pruett will start from the pole at Road Atlanta.
Magnus Racing Porsche, Scuderia Corsa Ferrari to start on GT front row. CTSCC qualifying also scrubbed due to weather.

I'm thinking the Road Atlanta Event in Grand-Am will be the one as Long Beach has been too good of an event to just throw away.

Not to mention.. Petit Le Mans ;)

There is suppose to be a zero percent chance of rain today. Hopefully it gets warm and the track dries up by this afternoon. I imagine there will be some chaos in the CTSCC, especially in The Esses.

Track conditions will be key as to what strategy to use. Traffic will be a major factor too.

Okay, the broadcast has begun here in Australia and they're are crossing the line to start, is this live or taped?

Heard that !
I am a NASCAR fan but I expect to watch what has been scheduled.
I could see the Cup race preempting the top tier Rolex race but not a Truck race.

At least it's appears to be full coverage, by delay, 20 laps.
I hope we get a better TV deal in the future.

Am I the only one hoping NBC gets rights for the USCR series?

#5 car will soon be out. I foresee frame damage. Huge hit, thankful that the #3 car's crew got out of the way... And were protected by the concrete wall.

As for the #5 car: OWNED! #3 car can't get a penalty, and the #5 car's probably out.
