Anybody out there following the Grand Am?

And Chris Kneivel just made mah day

Jordan Taylor: "For us right now the track is still greesy"

Chris Kneival: "So its kinda like that mullet you're trying to grow"

 My Sides

The #4 car is also showing smoke, and slowing... :scared: SO many retirements based purely on reliability. I'm flipping irritated. But I'm not doing backflips.

It was the 3 car that had problems. The 43 crashed in the 42 and 3 car's oil slick. The 2 had engine problems as well. All Bmw problems except for the 3. That leaves the 01 and 8 cars left on Bmw power. The 01 is running the 4.5L that failed earlier.

The Sahlens cars were running the old BMW engine so they aren't the same as the 4.5 liters in the 01 and Starwork cars.

You're correct. The Starworks 2 car has the 4.5L like the 01. All the other Bmw powered cars are the 5.0L. That's the 8, 42, and 43. The 42 had a transmission failure. The Chevy engine in the 3 car failed too

That's what I said.

Also, that debris in Canada Corner... I'm glad the race is ending under green, but lame that there's debris on the track to do it. :(

They're, apparently, both in testing or preparation.

Oh, or they cost too much. :(

Trg had a Sonoma test that if it went "well" they would be at road America. Fall Line was just plain slow

This weekend, Grand-Am will be taking on the new "roval" at Kansas Speedway for the SFP Grand Prix. When I normally think of road racing in Kansas, I usually think of a track the SCCA Runoffs used to be held at and what NASCAR Trucks once raced at- Heartland Park Topeka. But this weekend will not only be a run around the Kansas Speedway road course, but it will also be a night race.

The race is slated to be run this Saturday at 8:00 PM EDT. TV Coverage is told to be on FUEL... I mean, FOX Sports 2. Supposed to be live coverage as well. The Continental Sports Car Challenge Series race around Kansas is going to be run earlier in the day on August 17 and aired on August 25 on Speed C... I mean, FOX Sports 1.

After this... Laguna Seca (Sep. 7-8) and Lime Rock Park (Sep. 26-28) finishes up the 2013 racing schedule for the Grand-Am Rolex Sportscar Series. The anticipation then goes into anticipating the first season of the USCR.

Good luck to all drivers and teams this weekend at Kansas Speedway.

BROHAM
Are the Level 5 machines running the race at grand am still? has that changed?

I think that was one of those stories that no one ever really followed up on or cared to, but to answer the question, L5 is not racing at the Kansas race.

So surpisingly, I caught a re-air of the Rolex Sports Car Series Race and during commercial brake (as well as on Spedtv.com), they show the schedule for the race this Saturday:

Speedtv.com
The two hour, 45 minute timed race begins at 7 p.m. CT on Saturday evening. The race will be televised live on Fox Sports 2 (8 p.m. ET), and will be rebroadcast on Fox Sports 1 on Sunday at 4 p.m. ET"

Just to remind everyone, the current channels you have as "Speed" and "
Fuel TV" will simply just have there names changed to "Fox Sports 1" (Speed" and "Fox Sports 2" (Fuel TV)

I'm hoping I'll be able to watch somehow with FS1 not being available to Canadians and all :(
Yeah, Mac, effing great.

You are definatly this years winner of being the most supportive fan to either series.
So how many races did you attend this year?

I'm out of watching the race live as I don't get FOX Sports2 either and you as of now look to be out of watching it at all, at least on TV..

That's a great big WTF in my book.

I don't see how this new media source is to bring in new/more fans if current fans already lose out. :grumpy:

My biggest concern with the merger was not seeing 20+ races a year.
I know, selfish. It looks like I/we have bigger concerns with the TV deal.

If any Canadians can get a broadcast of the races, I've got an HD PVR2 capture card that can/will be used to capture the races and upload to your choice file site, GTP exclusive.

Just contact me, if you can get the broadcast north of the border. Otherwise, nothing I can do, I'm screwed out of watching it, and FS1 just cost USCR a huge portion of their fanbase.

Fox sports one is speed. The fox sports 2 is going to kill anyone watching it.

I don't know if you guys know this, but they upload the race broadcasts for both the Rolex series and the CTSCC to the Grand Am website. They seem to upload them around three days after they broadcast on TV, so you do have to wait a few days before you can watch, but it's better than not being able to watch at all.
