Stepford Wives- The story is terrible all the way through

Fast and The Furious- I'm not going to comment because it has all been said before.

Batman & Robin- Too many cheesy one liners.

Tremors 2 & 3- Sequels that should never have happened.

Police Academy 6- Just plain awful

Haven't seen Stepford wives. But I must agree with the rest of your list! :yuck:

Which Stepford Wives? The original or the remake?

And I thought Tremors 2 was okay. Tremors 3 sucked hard. And if you think that's bad... there's a Tremors 4... Aie!

Swift
My bad. As a martial artist. At least as far as being on camera goes. Only the strong was fun and some stuff he did in "Drive" was amazing. By no means good movies, but I just thought that he's got some talent. He was also the main villian in "Cradle to the Grave" if anyone has seen that. :yuck:

I think he was in a French film called "Brotherhood of the Wolf". I'm not saying it was a bad film though, even if it was French :sly: AND it starred Monica Bellucci...WOOF WOOF!

Edit: Finally thought of another bad, bad movie.....Armageddon! Dear God...the dialogue... :ouch: painful! I could barely watch it to the end. The film was so bad I wanted everyone to die!

Feel free to keep on ragging on at bad films, but the official nominations are now...

A poll will be appearing in due course.

Tremors 4! Please for the love of god say this is a joke.

What's amazing is some studio or producer put up (I imagine) a few million to make this.

Just watched one this weekend that would have made my original list. ' The Marksman' it was a Wesely Snipes movie, who I really like seeing in movies, but DAMN this sucked hard, terrible dialogue, poor camera work, crappy acting, save Snipe's performance. Besides him though, there was NO ONE else in the bloody movie, I didn;t recognize one single actor / actress....

Tremors 4 was pretty bad. :yuck:

TwinTurboJay: I like Snipes too. Too bad everything he does anymore is straight to video(or DVD). I rented one called "7 Seconds"(I think). It was fairly decent(for straight to DVD). Had cute British actress in it, but I can't remember her name....

Steel = one of the first "modern" comic book character to the big screen..

He played Steel, the common day john henry

He wore a steel outfit...and swung a hammer..
....

and..faught evil!

Only two I can think of at the moment are...

25th hr.

War of the Worlds

Good god.. in the name of all ****ty sequels LET IT DIE.
I loved 25th hour....... I even got it on DVD. :guilty:

I'm not going to name the obvious bad movies, but the ones rated fairly highly or ones for which I had high expectations because of a great prequel.

1. Elephant

Awful movie. Raises high expectations... I mean if nothing happens during the movie, there HAS to be a great climax at the end... which it didn't have. Nothing happened, completely predictable and even the predicted ending wasn't what I hoped it to be. Highly rated among movie fans, but to me it is pure trash. Waiting for a train to arrive at a trainstation is more interesting.

2. From Dusk Til Dawn 2

The first movie wasn't great, but VERY entertaining to me. It was purposefully a bad movie at the end, even though it started great... but that made it a great movie all together. Brilliant acting work as well and original concept. Part 2 is a turd. It is pretty much like the first movie, but without anything that made the first one good to watch. It also looks like it was made with 1% of the budget of the original.

3. Kung-Pow

It is meant to be a bad movie, and a lot of people act like it is funny because it is so lame... but watching this movie is like hearing the same joke that wasn't funny to begin with being told over and over again. How this ended up getting the ok sign by any Executive Producer I don't know.

4. Alexander

I heard some bad things about this movie and I brushed it off thinking it was just chatter from conservative homophobic Americans. So I went to watch it. It turned out to be such a piece of **** bastardization of a mythological warrior. Just one scene showing his homosexual feelings (which occurred a lot in the Roman Empire, but the Greek one as well) wouldn't have been a problem, but there is an overkill of it. You'd almost believe that he was a butt pirate and not some legendary warrior. Not to mention the casting is awful, Colin Farell doesn't even look Greek, not to mention a blonde wig? You ever saw someone from Greece with natural blonde hairs??? Also his mother Angelina Jolie doesn't age a bit in the movie, at the end the guy's mother looks younger than the soN. Bah!

5. Lost in Translation

Ok, this movie had some funny moments, but overall also a very dull movie. Most of the time you're sitting there watching people who are staring into space.

I would have to lump this part of your post into the "You Didn't Get It" category.

I would have to agree... Subtlety seems to be lost on most people...

I also disagree about "Elephant"... I thought it was a wonderful film... You have to be into Gus Van Sant's directorial style (minamalistic), but it was a wakeup call for many people, and of course a lot of people completely missed the point...

Oh, man. You are so terribly, sadly wrong about this one. I put it on my all-time Top Ten list before it was half over.

Yeah and the idea of him being homosexual was pushed much too far. I felt really uncomfortable watching it. Instead of the movie being about alexander's accomplishments, it just ended up being about him being gay. I mean jesus, I see him kiss the dude and I just thought 'ok he's gay that's cool' but it keeps going on and on. Until finally the movie's over and it just felt like I sat there watching a porno with a little action in it.

Probably... still a waste of time to me. I didn't 'get' Donnie Darko either, but that one did impress me. It made me want to think about the concept of time travelling. Lost in Translation made me think "when is this movie over with?".

Actually I got the point with this movie. The director completely missed the bat though. Now if the end would really be terribly shocking or something, that would have made a nice contrast with the first part of the movie. Capturing a day in school from different viewpoints, without going in-depth in any of the characters there, just doesn't make a good movie. It is original and never been done before, but making fashion for poodles was a original idea once as well, and it never was a good idea to put it in practice either.

I completely agree with the review they gave this movie at IGN.com, with final rating being a 2 for the movie.

I already expected to get tomatoes thrown at me for mentioning Lost in Translation and Elephant though, that is exactly why I mentioned them. Keep em coming!

I'm sure you think you "got" this movie, but from the looks of your post, you didn't... No matter... It's definitely not a film for everyone, which you have demonstrated...

BTW, try and use the edit button, instead of double posting...

I've actually watched very few bad films - not because there aren't many, there are plenty, but because i either choose not to watch them after reading only bad reviews of them or because i've watched enough of a film, usually less than half, to be able to tell that its a bad film. Come on people, whats wrong with you? - its people like you that pay for these crappy films to be made in the first place by paying to watch other crappy films!!!

A few rules to keep in mind next time you fancy watching a film:

1) Avoid any film that was originally a computer game, unless you are this guy:
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=73229

2) Avoid any film that was originally a comic strip, although some are quite good - most are bad Spiderman, the Hulk, most Batman films

3) Avoid any sequals, especially if the first was poor to start with - v2/3/4 etc isn't going to be any better! Some sequals are good, but these are few and far between.

4) Avoid chick flicks - unless you're a chick.

5) Read some reviews!!! - life's too short to waste it on cruddy films starring Seann William Scott.

Really? I loved both Spider-Man movies, and I would hardly call Batman Forever and Batman and Robin "most Batman movies."

You should know that you'll never be able to avoid this if you plan to have a long-term relationship. Get used to them.

Man, I'm the opposite. I hardly ever decide whether to see a movie or not based on what a worthless critic has said about it. This is because movies are 100% subjective, and you can't let someone else judge them for you.

You'd have to be retarded to read reviews before watching a movie. I rather get caught by surprise, sometimes the surprise is really good, another time it's like a turd in a box.

I'm like TheCracker, I read reviews. The key to checking out a review is not to listen to just one person/critic. I love rottentomatoes.com, because it will show you reviews/ratings from critics/members from all over. I also read reviews, because most of the time, I agree with what they have to say. Also, I don't think there is anything wrong with little heads up. If you really do ignore what other people has to say about movies(effectively), then you won't know if your next movie is a total garbage. It's unreasonable to have to watch bunch of movies to see if it's actually good.

I am not saying you should read reviews, but rather defending my position as someone who pays close attention to reviews. ;)
