I picked the third option.

I'm guessing
a second patch early in new year might contain more meaty stuff like the course maker (if its not added in the first patch) and improved sound (for some cars I guess).

Hopefully we will get some free Christmas DLC too

I REALLY want to try out the new course maker... it's the one feature I've been dying to see.

Will be disappointed if it's not in the day one patch.

At least we know that PD are constantly updating their games, which I prefer compared to some devs who never patch their games and leave the community in the dust.

I expect the '12-months of support' to be just that, technical-support to keep GT6 up and running, just ;), started by Day1 patch

It'd be great if they actually listened and kept-up on their word of extra tracks, cars, features, etc. But then I remember GT5's launch and... yeah :banghead:

Part of why I'm not playing GT6 for a month once it's out, let them do damage-control and then see whats-what. 💡

PD said its to be a big day one patch. So im going to go by there word this time and say its a big day one patch. Few Features, maybe missed cars, possibly some physics and sound changed.

Sound update? course maker? People, the Official site clearly states that those will come later (if they ever do), that means after release, meaning after day one, again, meaning that the Day ONE patch won't add those things.

No, it states those things will come in an update - the day one patch is an update. Call it what you will, patch/update are the same things. So it's reasonable to assume that some of those promised features could appear day one.

I really hope that PD converts the 22B Impreza and Supra 97' into premiums.

We may get the Impreza and Supra premium, soon.......

Back on topic, i think the day 1 patch will include bug fixes, seasonals, online features and whatsoever.

While I don't always agree with everything @PepeMickey says, the sound update and course maker coming day 1 does sound unlikely.

And only the course maker is listed as a feature that will come in an update. The sounds were only mentioned by Kaz in an interview at TGS I think, where he said there would likely be a day one update. So if we're going by what the GT website says then the chances of a sound update are even slimmer than say B-Spec or course creator.

We have to keep in mind, that Kaz said sound may not make it in time for GT6, implying perhaps until GT7. However, he also did mention that it "may" be "possible" to be implemented in a GT6 update. So, sound update on the day 1 patch is very, very unlikely since not of those statements indicate that it's close to finish. Whatever the case they are working on it.

As for liveries, Kaz did say that they found a way to implement it in GT6, even if not in-depth as other games. Honestly, those base models and RM models are just screaming "livery" imo. For the base models specifically, I don't see the point of having them in the first place if this isn't the case.

I don't expect any game changing features on day 1, but I do expect some major ones throughout GT6's life, which Kaz indicates that it'll be fully supported by updates for at least 1 year. GT5 surprised us with some features throughout its life, so I hope GT6 will be the same.

My "If all of this is included, i'll be very content" list.
5 cars (A45/E63/ Mercedes concept, X2014, and another random)
basic course creator (NOT GPS logger)
Unlocking of online abilities (seasonals, public lobbies, car trading, etc)
Special events(unless those were confirmed to naturally unlock during progression?)
Some bug fixes (monster truck Europa)

My "What I'm really expecting" list.
Mercedes Vision GT car, x2014
Online abilities
Bug Fixes

My "What the hell was this for, PD, THIS ISN'T "Very Large"" list.
Online abilities

It was during an interview with Eurogamer where he mentioned it. His exact words were:

I think I mentioned this in the past, but we’re really working to change the fundamental way that the engine sound works,” Kazunori Yamauchi said during a press session at Polyphony Digital’s Tokyo office. “Right now I have a feeling that it might not make it for day one for GT6.

When pressed on updating the sounds via update, Yamauchi responded thatThere’s a good possibility that we might do this.

So yeah, as I said, we shouldn't expect it any time soon. Not any fundamental improvements at least.

Not much. Frankly, the game has too many flaws for them to be solved by a single, simple patch. Most likely it'll just enable online a fix a couple of big bugs should they come up, like the Lotus/London bus one reported already. No sounds, no cars, no features, no anything.

I don't know why you guys are expecting so much from the day one patch. It's just gonna be a few fixes, why would they save big features in a patch and not on the disc?
