Very interesting theory! I will try it out later!

I didn't see a theory in there :boggled: just some observations.
I would very much appreciate others testing out the phenomenon and making sure what the Manual says is true.
Remember also apart from deterioration in rigidity, there is mechanical damage as well as cosmetic damage to factor in.
The increase in HP in new car used continuously for an event has been observed by me many times.

I tried this after the Pagani seasonal, I think PD have got these nailed for all users with the challenge. I hated the Bathurst overtake challenge, but managed a gold with many attempts and swearing. I loved this trial, but needed many attempts and probably as much swearing but at my own stupidity!

My first time was a 1.10.xxx and I nearly gave up there, thinking I would struggle to find the 3+ seconds to gold in just a small section. I kept at it though, and eventually got within a couple of tenths. All the while, I was pushing the car just that bit more and gaining so much confidence with it. Eventually I got the gold, but it was never about that in the end.

I'm nowhere near fast enough to go for the overall fastest time, but regardless I may just come back to this one to try and improve on my personal best.

I already had an SLS GT3 as well but had never driven it. Think that will now change drastcially in future races!!!

There is no doubt that there is a significant effect on the car after several tries.
I have noticed myself that if I quit and re-start (not re-try) the car feels better.
But until several people perceive that effect I'm merely hallucinating alone - when everybody feels the same thing, at least the hallucination will be a shared one
I think that I have been noticing some change in the cars chassis after something like 100km especially if I restart the event after 200km car feels bit stiffer. Would be interesting to know what sort of formula PD uses for chassis deterioration, does it happen after every mile, or after every 20 miles or something...

And yeah, I really don't have anything conclusive on this, just some doubts...

Nice xmas present. I brought one for myself as well but figured pretty quick that it was a waste of my money. I am hopeless on it!!
I have a second hand one which I purchased last year I think, but couldn't drive it. Just could not make it drive in a straight line, always went all over the place.
I understand that learning to drive one after using the controller ever since the 1st GT game came out will be tough, but I think I'll have a decent crack at it, after all, nearly all the best players are at the top because they use a wheel.
Cornering. Being able to hold a turn without lifting my finger up off the button to increase, decrease, wow, looking forward to that.

Just throw the dual shock in trash pin and in a month you'll wonder why you didn't start using the wheel sooner  I had my wheel already while playing GT4 started the game all over from zero and I think in the time had made the license tests there was no going back to pad, ever  and actually I just replaced my old DFpro with brand new t300 and only that transaction already was a bit of shock and it seems like I'm still struggling with brake pedal little bit (not best quality) but I'll get there, eventually

On my first try, I got a 1:08.4. On my 5th try, I was on my way to a sub 1:06 time, but went off right before the finish :banghead:.

I wasn't able to get remotely close to that time afterwards. After about 10 more tries, I clinched the gold with a 1:06.9xx- I didn't pass the GT-R at the end. I did the Bathurst challenge with the Huayra before I tried this one, so I did find this fairly easy compared to the all of the other Overtake Challenges. I will definitely be using the SLS GT3 more often too, I love the way it drives.

This TT have a little bug

Normal finish countdown of start time trial, its in 3th gear no ?

In strange moments youre restart time trial and enter again and in finnish of countdown you go in 4rth gear and its 1 tenth more faster.

Sorry for me english, underster the problem?

Im GTro_Juan

The same happend to me. First time in the afthernoon when I came in I started in 3th gear. Later at night I started in 4th gear. It was nice to read here that I was not drunk

Anyway it had not influence in my poor time 1.05.3xx. I´ve got it after more or less 15 attemps. And later I had around 5.748 attemps and I did´nt get better. what a pity

So there's two different weather setups witch makes me to do certain things in different manner, I did quite long stint on both setups and it really seems that many things changes depending is there some clouds or just blue sky when you start going downhill. I don't know if this relates with this 3rd gear 4th gear problem, but seems to me like when the sky is blue I was constantly being little bit slower at the start and that audi was more in the way making takeover harder, but for example passing that 3rd car turning left uphill the sun is shining on the road giving some more grip (I think) and the car you are passing gives some help so I could win some time there... I ended up with same sort of times on both weathers, but just doing things bit differently.

But yeah, if anyone has any thoughts about this matter please tell, I'm bit confused about this myself so further investigations may be necessary before jumping in to too drastic conclusions

Not usually a fan of race cars/slick tyres, but this one is pretty good fun... must be because it's on the 'Ring :D

Down to a 1'03.787 for 19th, but could be a lot better...

I'm losing at least 0.1 from the start to some of my friends ghost lines (have restarted numerous times, but always in 3rd gear), and my G27 throttle is flickering (AGAIN!)... going to have to take them apart (AGAIN!) and clean them.

Reckon a 1'03.5 is doable.

But yeah, if anyone has any thoughts about this matter please tell,

I've only done one session on this. I've been in 3rd gear and had to quickly change into 4th on 'start'.
......My main thought is that you!!...@ODB... have got far too good at these TT/challenges!!.....

Seriously!...great job on your times mate! ;)...👍.
You must be enjoying your T300rs? :dopey:.

I actually liked this event because it forced me to think differently and adapt quickly to my surroundings. I got some really cheeky passes that would definitely disqualify me in a real series, though.

I probably should've brought my login bonus up to 200%, though, but I'm too lazy to wait five days to play.

HAhahahhaha  I have to tell I surprised myself Saturday for making such good times on both of these new overtake events   I was bit lucky at Mount Panorama to get a kick start from that yellow car for the straight but I think I still take it :D

But yeah, that new wheel is just amazing!!! I've been using it for couple of weeks now and it just keeps feeling better and better, even that crappy brake pedal is starting to co-operate in some manner, or should I say my foot is starting to get used to the idea of it being so stiff and numb

Couldn't agree more... @ODB and @IBZ6L20VT get my vote for most impressive improvement over the past couple of months 👍

Can you get a GTEye spring for it?

Wow man, thanks you guys both for the great compliments, really nice to hear

Can you get a GTEye spring for it?

Hmm, haven't even herd about it, I must take a look 👍

@Stotty .....There is always the 'delete friend' option if they get too good!!.........:scared:....;)..👍

HAhahhahahahahhaah

I have one in my G27... stiffens up the brake pedal... highly recommended 👍

Nor sure if they do one for the T300, but there's probably something similar if not.

Look here... https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/the-must-have-upgrade-for-any-logitech-g25-g27-owner.279149/

Well the actual problem is that my old brake pedal was rather loose, and it got stiffer as I pressed it more as it had some progression, this one is just stiff, all the way at same pressure so it doesn't have any feel to it, witch is actually rather ironic since the wheel has like 100 times more feel to it compared to that old driving force pro but pedals feel like wood, first few days with that new set was rather schizophrenic I have to say

But yeah, I take a look at it, thanks

EDIT: These look really nice, just what I would need!!

Ah, I thought the pedal was too soft... just stick with it, you'll soon get used to it.

The brake pedal in my G27 is solid with the GTEye... took me a week or 2 to adjust, but once I did it's a load better. 👍

Sorry to be off topic, but the T300rs & the G27 pedals are !!!! :dopey::dopey::dopey::dopey: 👍.

I'm looking into the GTEye spring 👍.

What are your FFB settings @ODB ?....I'm at Torque 2 sensitivity 3.

Back on topic:..........erm.............might try again soon...................:embarrassed:

Nice time Stotty! i also seen a lot of the ghost from my friend list walking away on the start and i was wondering why , didnt know about the 4th gear bug (i should read more!.. :))

Naah my old was really soft but at least it had some progression, but yeah, after two weeks it's starting to feel quite alright...

What are your FFB settings @ODB ?....I'm at Torque 2 sensitivity 3.

I have torque at 6 and sensitivity at 8, I think I might drop sensitivity to 6 too. Those figures are quite high, but seems like I'm starting to get the idea of lifting the wheel with opposite hand instead of pulling it down same side hand since driving in "wrong way" for long time is just too painful  those figures are really making me grip quite tight witch I understand is probably not good, and the fact that my hands was hurting already with old wheel was the initial spark for my new wheel, but now I have blisters in totally new places :lol: but yeah, I think dropping those figures lower would probably allow longer stints so...

Lol. I know exactly what you mean. I suffer the blisters too. I started with torque 5 sensitivity 5 and now I´m triying with 6 and 6. I feel the diference with the sensitivity but not much with the torque

With the pedals Im not quite happy, specially with the brake pedal. I find them a bit too soft. Maybe The SIM PEDALS would be perfect

Yeah, driving gloves is the way to go  and a helmet for banging my head in the wall   Hmm, really amazing yours felt too loose, if mine would be any stiffer I'd need shoes while driving  But yeah, main complaiment has been about pedal being too loose, but on my old pedals I only had to lay my foot on the brake to get that 10% and it was rather easy to do, but now as it's stiff I tend to press it too much trying the same thing. But yeah, it does it's job, just needs a lot if learning to find the feel for the pedal... I have the throttle nailed to the floor anyway so it makes no difference

But yeah, those sim-pedals look reallly nice  I wish I had the money, doesn't look cheap

Edit: seem like this thread is getting quite far from the topic
