ORS | SEASON 8 | PRE RACE BRIEFING

For round 6 we enter the creative minds at Polyphony Digital and head over to Deep Forest Reverse for 3 x 20 lap sprint race.

ORS_S8_R6.jpg

This track is notorious for corner cutting. So everyone will need to be on their game with the ORS white line rules for all corners. By now all drivers should know what is clearly a cut and what is not. You cannot use the concrete area through the esses (turns 10 & 11). If you are found to be cutting corners consistently to gain an advantage then you will be penalised by the stewards. Penalties can range from point deductions, 1 race bans and up to disqualifications from the entire ORS season 8. Ensure you have read all the rules in the opening post (page 1).

The pit exit around Deep Forest Reverse sends you out a 2 thirds of the way down the main straight. Make sure you keep inside the pit exit line and do not merge left onto the racing line unless it is clear to do so. The pit exit line finishes at the apex of turn 1 so make sure to give any car behind you enough room to make turn 1. I would suggest even stopping near the corner if a car is coming towards turn 1 to avoid causing them any accidents with the outside barrier/wall so please you common sense to avoid any collisions. You may enter the pits at full speed without being penalized. Therefore you are not required to reduce speeds when entering the pits.

If you find yourself off the track be mindful when rejoining, please be aware of your position on the track relative to your fellow races. Drivers rejoining the track must give way to race traffic and not become an obstruction.

The following drivers need to ensure they are carrying the below ballast for Monday night.

Tier 1
Oni_chan - 70kgs
TT-R_Toivo - 60kgs
Rod_AUS - 25kgs

Tier 2
Jol_1 - 70kgs
rotamasta7 - 70kgs
mrtaital - 35kgs

Tier 3
maggotronz - 70kgs
wackojacko6969 - 25kgs

Failure to comply can results in 1 race bans to removal from the series.

Recently i was made aware of an issue with drivers after the finished race countdown starts that would "play" around with the B-Spec drivers who have crossed the finish line. I would like to remind you all that even though someone has crossed the line and the race timer started that there are still other drivers battling while having to negotiate B-Spec drivers that have finished the race. Do not get in other drivers way. The ORS rules apply at all times including when the finish race timer starts. Therefore i do not want to see other drivers trying to push B-Spec cars off track and get in the way of other drivers still battling.

On a separate issue if you decide to park your car off the track due to any reason and then decide to rejoin racing even though you are X laps down you MUST not become and obstacle for other drivers. Do not battle with them as you may no longer be fighting for position but they could very well be fighting and you may slow them down or hinder their results. If you want to race with them i suggest you sit behind them 3 or more car lengths to not cause them any grief.

Now finally i need everyone's qualifying/race start tyre by 11:59pm Tonight. If you fail to provide me with your qualifying tyre by the deadline you will be forced to qualify and start race 1 on Racing Hard tyres.

Oni

Cheers for the results Jase. I know it can be time consuming.

Also thanks for uploading the replay files for Cac. I tried uploading race 1 but it wouldn't accept my compressed file from my mac. It got to 100% then would disappear. Not sure if you can put .rar or .zip files as i noticed they had .exe files so figured thats what is needed but not sure how you make a .exe on a mac.

All good Mr Chan.
I actually enjoy the review component, gives me a chance to play Police haha.

Not sure about the Mac capabilities & compatibilities with G.Drive. Using Chrome you can upload the entire Replay file without compressing.

Hey jasr

Was mr T's 1:14.066 on lap 3 race 3 illegal?
And my 1:14.281 was set on lap 10 not on lap 2.

Man that was some great racing the other night .

CHEERS redness-63 (;)

Hey jasr
Was mr T's 1:14.066 on lap 3 race 3 illegal?
And my 1:14.281 was set on lap 10 not on lap 2.

Not sure Red was a bit sketchy on Monday/ Tuesday. If I have made an error(s) apologies to Mr T/Red - you can have my fast lap point as compensation ;) haha. Seriously though, I will review again tonight and advise. Thanks for letting me know.

UPDATE:
Re-review of laps times. Red was right here - Mr T's lap of 1.14.066 on Lap 3 in Race was faster than Red's lap of 1.14.281 which i have now observed on Lap 9, not lap 2 as previous stated which was actually a 1.14.291 - :dopey:

Fast lap points go to Mr T for this one.

Heads up to all. There is a very high chance Monday nights race will be a wet one for the entire race duration. So i suggest getting at least some wet practice in. The pre-race brief tomorrow will confirm if Monday is a full wet race or changeable.

ORS | SEASON 8 | PRE RACE BRIEFING

For round 7 we head to Italy and to the famous Autodromo Nazionale Monza for 38 laps in the wet.
The weather forecast for Monday night is heavy rain so get out your paddles as its going to be a very slippery one.

ORS_S8_R7.jpg

This track is very straight forward with the ORS white line rule for all corners. Take special care around both chicanes to avoid cutting the white lines. I will note that you cannot use any run offs unless used to avoid causing an accident, also be aware of the braking markers down the main straight as they are solid and will stop your car in its tracks if hit.

If you are found to be cutting corners consistently and/or using run offs to gain advantage frequently then you will be penalised by the stewards. Penalties can range from point deductions, 1 race bans and up to disqualifications from the entire ORS season 8. Ensure you have read all the rules in the opening post (page 1).

Regarding the pit entry at Monza make sure you do not enter the pits at full speed as the game will penalize you and reset your car causing valuable time lose. I recommend entering the pits around 100kph. When exiting the pits keep right until it is safe to merge left onto the racing line. Remember the car behind has right of way so please use common sense to avoid any collisions.

If you find yourself off the track be mindful when rejoining, please be aware of your position on the track relative to your fellow races. Drivers rejoining the track must give way to race traffic and not become an obstruction.

The following drivers need to ensure they are carrying the below ballast for Monday night.

Tier 3

Failure to comply can results in 1 race bans to removal from the series.

Now finally this track has officially been declared a WET RACE. Everyone will be qualifying on Racing Wet tyres.

The settings for qualifying are:
Weather at Start: 100%
Surface Water: 100%
Weather Changeability: 0

Race Start settings are:
Weather at Start: 75%
Surface Water: 60%
Weather Changeability: 0

Reminder the weather for qualifying will be locked to full rain to avoid any qualifying issues. IF the track dries up during the race you are not required to run all compounds but MUST NOT exceed your tyre compound limits.

Oni

I don't control the weather mate. I'd prefer a dry race here but the rain gods have other plans.

Can i please have some extra lights on my car for tonight's race AND an emergency grappling hook and cable for missed brake marker moments?
