I'll be joining as well today. I'm going for the Alfa 8C, it has the looks and the pace i'm looking for. The Aston is a little out of the league here. I don't understand why the Aston and the TVR are allowed since its a european car race :).

Ahh wut? Aston Martin and TVR are british manufactures. And England is part of Europe.

Todays practice session will be opened at around 13.00 GMT. BTW people. Standard cars are allowed too, so if you have any in mind, try them out today. The Jaguar XKR Performance '02 seems like it would fit the regulations.

I guess thats true, but they're dropping out on us with the whole eurocrisis settlements. Therefore, we should hit them were it hurts the most, and doing so by excluding the Aston and TVR for this race will make them think twice . I've cc'd this message to the prime minister of the UK, and by giving me a McLaren F1 i'll reconsider my proposal :sly:.

Today's practice session just ended, and we've decided to keep the DB9 in the race. However, the fastest drivers are advised not to use it, as it wouldn't really be fair. There's still a few people who have not attended any sessions yet, that I'd like to hear from.

Can make practice later at 18.00, I have a kart championship this afternoon that was put back to today. So see you all later.

How do you know who is fast or not? I stick to the Alfa Romeo 8C, it also drives good in wet conditions. Downside is it's ability to drive into the pitlane :ouch:.

Thanks for the pm you sent, I am a little put out by it to be honest, should you read back through this thread you will see that I have not forgotton about the event I signed up to, and have posted in here regarding the cars.

You mention that you expect everyone to take part in a practice session - No problem but when are they? I work 12 hour shifts and cannot be online every day, it would be nicer if your messages were not sent with the tone that this one was.

It's mostly left up to the drivers to choose what car fits them. IMO the best drivers so far would be you, Zolon and Chris. And thus I'd expect the 3 of you to not choose the DB9, as you really don't need to have the best car in the race.

Can I still join this event? I'd like to use an Aston Martin. Just need to know more about the practice sessions.

I apologize if you found my PM offensive in any way. I meant no disrespect, and was simply in a hurry to get some reminders out. As you might have noticed. I've had problems with people forgetting about the events they've signed onto, and thus I have to sent out reminders every now and then.

These past 3 days have all had practice sessions lasting from 2-3.5 hours, and I intend to have 2 more sessions opened in the following week. So far I'm planning to have one up tuesday and thursday, both starting at around 18.30 GMT.

Ahaha this was funny to watch, or more say hear. I'd just joined back after my little DC. go on watch race and you get the camera shot that doesn't cover the pit lane entrance. I hear two bangs, a horn and that the little icon in the corner of the cars were now damaged. :)

Yeah, I wasn't expecting him to ram into the wall, so didn't brake in time XD. But truth be told, the first time I had to pit on Spa, I hit that wall too. The pit entrance is awful.

Yeah it's so tight and unlike most pits on GT5 you have to drive under your own power for a little while.

Sorry Andy for not being on the practise yesterday, I was at my Chiropractors.

I should be able to get on a practise tomorrow tho at 18:30, alternativly anytime im on and your on ill just PM you on PS3. :)

p.s. thanks for the email :)

Hi,

I can only join practice as from 20gmt on, would there be a practice session at this timne prior to the Race?
I have been putting my time on the Nissan challange, 43rd:)

I can't manage any practice after 20.30 GMT this week. However, seeing as I've already driven with you ACL, I can vouche for you. Just don't accidentally press anything this time! :)

And np Chris. The only remaining practice sessions have already been posted in the thread, so no need to waste time by PM'ing me :).

I wish i had that one on tape. I started to chuckle as i hit the wall aside the pit entrance, but right after jawehawk crashed into me i lol'ed pretty hard.

Chris has told me I should run in this. I'll join the practice tomorrow. Is DB9 definitely the car to use? Can anyone give me a bench mark time to aim for?

I've raced against Chris for years. The one thing he's definitely good at is preserving tyres. lol.

The real fast guys seems to be able to run 2.40's in the Alfa 8C. The DB9 is quick, though I haven't been able to get below 2.43 in it. TVR Tamora is definately capable of winning aswell. I personally haven't gotten below 2.44 with it. The Alfa seems to fit Zolon and Mattie great, as it is fast, but also very hard to control.

And btw. Practice is tonight and on thursday. I don't plan on any practice session tommorow.

Thanks! I'am probably going for the Alfa, however, also will try the SL55, can swap cars during practice? I have no DLC therefore very dificult to practice

I'm going on for an hour or two to test out the wet tyres.

Please feel free to join.

I can't make any of the two practice sessions. Can I just join an hour or so before the race and do the session then ?

I did some practise of my own yesterday and managed to lap a 2:39:190 in the Alfa 8C with little room for improvement. I reckon a high 2:38 might be possible. Of course, this is only possible with a set of new, warm tyres and no traffic. The alfa is well balanced and controllable once you're driving on its limits, it's definitely my choice for this endurance. The Aston is quicker i think, a few days ago i tried the Aston and lapped a 2:40:1xx on my second lap without really knowing this car. I'll join the practise session tonight, hope my connection is any good.

I hate you! :D

I also was secretly practising my pit entrance :). I think if you stop driving without ABS you'll be a lot quicker. Also its not a shame to drive with ABS if you use a controller imo. It's a brave, but not entirely wise decision .
