If it was possible, would you build your own place where the next UKGTP's could take place? With permanent PS setups, showers, and beds.

That'd take a lot of money Kikie, and unless the Dutch lads pack their Van with several hundreds of Kilos of Cocaine I don't think we'll be building our own place any time soon.

theres been a change in my schedule and a few things have happened that have again unfortunately left me in doubt of attending the lan. will see how things span out and let you know. will send my PS down with someone else if its still needed and my memory card/game too if needed. 👍

If it was possible, we definately would! Unfortunately, it isn't possible...

Well, you say that, but I had a bit of a thought about this. :D Heyope, anyone?

Also: Famine, you were right! ;)

What you got in mind?

I can rent a good size unit in my area for about £250-£350 a month. Divide that by 30 + people and your looking at permanent GT setup for just over £11a month. The only problem is that most people will not get the use out of it because of travelling. Would be great to a have a GTP base where GTP members can regularly get together.

Sorry to hear that, Ex :(. Fingers crossed that things pan out okay for Attendance Day.
2 friends off mine (brothers) had a building a couple off years ago with computer LAN setups. It actually works, they have had some computer racing teams whom rented the LAN thing for a weekend. Maybe I could talk to them again and start all over again but this time with PS3, GT5 etc...
But this would mean that the UKGTP LAN parties are going to be in Belgium.
Should I...?

There's no particular reason why you can't start your own EUGTP...

My parents built their home near Heyope in mid-Wales. I mentioned Heyope because it's a fairly well-known rally stage from the RAC (or whatever it's called this week.) The lounge and sun room would hold a fair event, given a bit of furniture shuffling. Course, I'd have to pack them off to France for a week, or something. :D

Thanks for the compressor by the way. All was well, so it's a bit of a head-scratcher.

np Sorry I didn't make it on Sunday. There was, inevitably, a Damsel In Distress that needed rescuing. I'm such a hero. :D Hope you had a good day!

Just a quick question.

Obviously GT5 is nearly upon us and we know that it's going to have a 16 player online mode. I'm sure that the UKGTP events will still continue but will players who can't make it be able to race in the events through an online mode?

For example, would we be able to have 10 players at the event racing with another 6 joining online? Obviously the venue would need a broadband connection.

We thought exactly the same about the advent of GT4 at UKGTP2...

But honestly, I can't see any reason why not. Providing the networking is simple and we can set up private, passworded rooms (and the host determines the cars and settings), it should be a breeze.

Not only that, but we'll be having WGTPs, with San Francisco, London, New York, Amsterdam, all joining in. :)

I was thinking about the same thing, last week.

Just realised I still need to book a room for this event and buy a new PS2.

I'm still keeping track of Cromwell bookings. Of the rooms I originally reserved, there are one single and one double left, and (as mentioned) dustdriver may be looking for someone to share his twin room. More rooms may be available, but I haven't checked recently.

Here is a list of people I think are coming but I do not know where they are staying (some of these may be local people):

Blacksheep
donbenni
Hugo Boss
Mark_T
Race Idiot
Ren-Tec
Sureshot
