Nice one I can't seem to get under 1:41 with my new wheel. What setting do you use your wheel on? I can't fight oversteer quick enough it seems with a wheel although i'm sure I'll pick it up soon :)

I think i have mine set to realistic. But will have to check. After watching some of the vids posted here i found 3rd gear to be the best as it stoped the tail kicking out.

Had yet another crack last night and managed the following (video available if required):
Driver: EF-MattyB/EF-MattyB
Time: 1:38.228
Transmission: Manual
Controller: DFGT
ABS: 1

Great lap! Can't get any where near that with my wheel!

Had a few runs with the DS3 just for a bit of experminenting, ended up with a 1'36.662.

I just don't get how it's possible...
Especialy your wheel lap. The line is just so tidy and smooth;)

Back when the GT-R Eifel challenge was up on Seasonal, I was using your replays to improve. Could not get any closer than 2.4 sec from your best.

Tried another 10laps to improve tonight, but no luck. I'm about 2.7 sec behind Dans lap here also, so I guess thats close to my potential.

Good fun to see it's possible to set these amazing times.
And this track/car combo is really a lesson of driving lines, steering corrections and throttle control!

Good luck to everyone! Keep pushing those tenths!!

Totally agree, I just don't know how it can be so fast without sliding out, even when tyres are all red it still stays on line!

Infact in the whole of the DS3 lap only one tyre went red twice - :scared:

Yeah just to be clear, everybody does have ALL the aids off except for ABS which is down to you?

I can only answer for myself, but the only "aid" I use is ABS 1.
Have been trying to tinker with the brake bias from the RA menu (setup on wheels), but my fastest lap is from ABS 1 BB F5 R5(Deafult settings)
My goal for this week was to break in to the 1:37.XXX, but at the moment I'm .550 off that goal, and I'm struggling to improve.

When you see the replays from Dan and Timppaq it sure looks like they use SRF and superglue on the tires:) But I guess thats what separates the best from the rest, to find grip and traction where others are struggling.

I sure enjoy this casual league of time trials. Always wanted to join the WRS, but the fact that I have to create a second account have stopped me from doing it(I know it's quick process to get new account, but still, It's my excuse and I'm sticking to it).

This is just so casual and easy to join, and good fun!
Keep up the good work guys!

It's nice to feel appreciated :) you're welcome 👍

I'm gonna give it a whirl again in a bit. I'm not far off the blessed 1:37.xxx either so I can't stop now lol

Have you had a chance to update the leaderboard yet? :)

GT Academy finalist 2010:tup:

The second perspective in the video replay I uploaded illustartes how I was able to cope with the oversteer, no wild corrections, just slight countersteering when the car is just on the verge of stepping out, obviously requires good rhythm to know how the car will react. Compiled about 2 hours worth at the mountain so far, no ABS is the best way to understand the cars mechanics.
Some of it also is down to the racing line and holding it well. Subtle differences in racing line can change behaviour of a car through a certain corner a lot and make it more stable while also being able to carry more speed through a corner and drive with ease. You applied that lesson in your lap extremely well as you always do. Do you think you will be any faster with ABS on but with stock brake bias settings?

I might give this a run today, hopefully can beat your pad time or get under 1:37.

Just ran some laps on it, I think I could improve by 4-5 tenths without driving that accurately but thought soon as I'm within 1 second of Dan, I would just post anyway as it is more a casual competition.

Driver: saidur_ali/saidur
Time: 1:36.833
Transmission: Manual (No clutch)
Controller: wheel (G27)
ABS: 1

Right,

After a manic few days I have finally got around to updating times and adding the (extremely fast) new times lol

The leaderboard is looking fantastic and the difference between DS3 and wheel is becomming more apparent (with the exclusion of a couple of blistering DS3 laps)

If you have submitted a time (casual or otherwise) in both categories I have only added your fastest time to this list. Whilst I appreciate there was only one entrant and that was more of an example than anything, This prevents people from entering twice :)

EDIT: Once again, if I have missed an update or missed your time altogether (or just made a mistake) please do let me know!

Also, Any ideas for addition to the leaderboard would be appreciated! what do you wanna see in future?

EDIT 2 (god i love to edit): I shall be burning some rubber today to see if I can get myself back in to the top 3 DS3 users as it's SO tight up there I can't pass up the opportunity to get a podium this week!

Well after about 100 laps today I finally improved:tup:

by a couple of hundredths to 1.38.377:tdown:

I think I'm at the limit of what I can do with this combo!

No shame in admitting that mate. Still a damn fine time.

The thing about this is finding out how well you rank among the other entrants, and when you look over the DS3 side your time is pretty damn quick!

Looks like an online race may need to be organized in a couple of weeks as it looks like it may be very close lol

lass than 1 second between 2nd and 8th on the DS3 side... jeeezz...

I can get up to 0.5 in front of my ghost sometimes but just lose it during the rest of my lap, tried auto/manual, every combo of Brake bias poossible and even changing car colour!

Unbeliveably my top 5 times are with a Blue car!?

Whoa thats good! The blue colour makes it more aerodynamic ;)

All on different days!

From my experience Yellow is the fastest colour (My friend and I did some extensive research on the matter in GT4 lol) However the XKR does not come in yellow :(

Many entrants this week?

Yes actually! We're on 30 which is up from last week! we also have an even number of DS3 and Wheel users at the moment!

EDIT: I shall endeavour to do some research in to this colour business at a later date lol, however, perhaps users could submit the colour car used for their lap times next week for a little comparison?

Also phil, just remembered my best time is in the blue one

Haha am I allowed to have a dfgt time and a ds3 time?

I took the fastest time and submitted that to the list to prevent confusion and to make the top 10 a bit fairer, however this is your show so at the end of the day, if you want both times on the list then we can do it that way! lol

Oh right okay I think people can have two times if they want one wheel, one ds3 ;) well here is my dfgt time, really beginning to improve with it :)

I've been putting in a little session on this each day, and seem to be stuck at around 1:38.600 at the moment so I thought I'd try something a little different . I set a 1:35.2 on Sport Mediums to chase down, it's proving more frustrating as I'm on average 1.800s down after the tunnel, so easily at 1.37 pace, but I then lose all of my time in the two corners before the final chicane (I'm using a DS3, with the buttons ;)).

I'll post my entry later today.
