It'll probably just be better if there's a way of searching through the cars like the Garage is set up. Same style that the dealership has now, but with Sorting lists. In that case, have a list for types of cars. DING DING DING DING

Who doesn't already own all the car's from the New Car Dealership by now anyway :dunce:

"GT5 Spec 2.0 & DLC Details: Standard Car Interiors, Replay Controls, New Cars, New Tracks, & More"

Kazunori Yamauchi has been sharing a boatload of new details via Twitter this morning on the previously announced Gran Turismo 5 Spec 2.0 Update coming later this month. Here’s an overview of what we can expect from 2.0, which will be made available to everyone for free:

•Simplified interior views added to all standard cars.
•User control of the weather change feature.
•Settings sheet which allows you to save multiple car settings.
•New Spec 2.0 opening movie.
•Improved UI response and usability.
•Replay forward/rewind.
•Mid-race save feature for endurance races.
•Expanded online lounge features (narrowing down car types, shuffle races…).
•Expanded Photo Travel features (you can now take photos of cars together with your avatar).
•Added “NASCAR Pit Scene” stage to Photo Travel.
•Added 11 new 2011 NASCAR models.
•Added the Nissan GT-R N24 Schulze Motorsport (the car in which Kazunori contested the 2011 Nurburgring 24 Hours).
•Improved physics and artificial intelligence.
•Support for the Logitech G25/G27 steering wheel.
Commenting about the update, Kazunori had this to say about the company’s inspiration and motivation for the new features:

The coming Gran Turismo 5 Spec 2 update is an update that contains the feedback from the users playing GT5 online every day. We have added cars such as the newest NASCAR race cars, but many of the updates are those that improve usability and expand the field of game play. I believed from the initial release of Gran Turismo 5 that it would be the users that would make the game grow thereafter, and we added things like interior views for the standard models because there was a lot of request for it from our users. You could say that this update is the shape and form of GT5 that was created through the opinions of our fans.

Kazunori has also provided some information about DLC, which will become available sometime after Spec 2.0 is released and will include a “racing car pack”, a “course pack”, and a “racing gear pack”. Stay tuned for more details on those soon.

WOW that is an incredible update!!!! Dang almost everything on that list is what I have been requesting to get me back into GT5. Especially having interior view in EVERY car. That was my top complaint about GT5 and now its going to be fixed. Thats just awesome. Now I am officially excited about GT5 again. Rewind features in replay mode is another huge improvement. Mid race save feature is also very very nice. Dang this is very exciting news. Now I just have to find the time to balance between F4 and GT5. Again,.....very exciting news!!! :dopey:👍

Even small time change would be great.
Example:
Ok, we don't have assets to do rome night, so lets put ther time change from 6.00 - 19.00.

That would bring more life to some tracks like Madrit, Rome, Tsukuba or TGTT

Any images?

Ok, now I know again why I hate PC SIMS :D

I´m a graphic fetishist, no chance to play such games, even if the physics are better than real life...

Back in days, 3-4 years ago, I was playing GTR and rfactor but now it is impossible after GT5 and FM4...

Could be. It's usually a little race between the Netherlands, South Korea and Japan. South Korea is fastest at the moment at average from all the citizens with internet connections.

Ehm... just got a nice link (only averages though). We're only 5 :(

Oh yeah, I heard that we'll be going to 240Mbit/s in Q1 2012. :P

Wow I couldn't imagine how it would be to have Internet that fast. A movie would
Take less than a minute.

more great news – very shortly we will be sharing with you details of a forthcoming package of exciting DLC for GT5 that will include new vehicles and tracks plus a host of other additional new content. The news will be incoming to PlayStation Blog and gran-turismo.com very soon"

Well i have the money ready dear pd, show me good stuff. :sly:
(Actually, no, i don't have a credit card, i need to buy that...psn cards LOL)

Personally, I prefer road cars and I have no interest whatsoever on race cars in GT5.
But I won't go as far as pushing for their exclusion from GT5.

I don't care about the size really, I care about the stability of the servers. Knowing Sony we'll be seeing download errors in the future.

No more race cars, they suck, especially GT500 and GT300. But not RM, they are cool.

No more race cars for a "racing game"? personally that's been one of my biggest gripes for both GT5 and FM3 and FM4. Not enough current cars. There are so many different race series that have been left out. FIA GT1 for example. Those are some of the most bad ass cars there is and none of the big games have even one of them. Super GT's current cars from the last few years are non existant. Especially the sexy HSV. that in my opinion would be a no brainer for PD or Turn10 and neither have felt the desire to include it. R15+ and R18 would be another but no, same deal. R15 regular and then maybe an update on paint and call it new.

Me personally, I'd like more race cars and less regular cars. Current and cars from the last 3 years would be nice. But that may be asking too much.

If dudes list from about 10 pages back turns out to be legit I'll be turning off FM4 and playing GT5 Spec 2.0 instead. The other feature I really like is "mid endurance race saves" that will be helpfull trying to bust out the 24hr races without leaving my PS3 on for a week. Mine is old and don't need to make it's eventual demise that much quicker.

Can't wait for Spec 2.0. should be sweet.

Does anyone know how getting cars in DLC usually works? Do you still need to buy them with ingame credits or do you get them straight into your garage? I can't remember how it worked when I bought NFS shift DLC. How does it work in Forza?

in forza it's in the "marketplace". you choose the DLC pack and if you have enough microsoft points it will allow you to download it. Once downloaded it will automatically install and restart the game. Once in game you'll still have to buy the cars with credits but you'll have the "ability to buy" versus not without the pack. They will appear to not be part of the game without. If you're racing someone that has the DLC you'll see them driving a grayed out ghost looking Mk IV jetta. I'm sure that PD will do the same thing. you buy it in the store and it will load and show up in the dealership like in forza. Then you're free to buy, test drive or look at the cars all you want.

Hope that helps.

Well, this is a surprise. It'll be interesting to hear what you think of the improved physics, if we get them for road cars, as it evidently wasn't quite good enough to keep you entertained. I have little doubt Forza 4 will make you happy, should be an interesting comparison.

Hell yeah, GT5 needs much more Japanese cars 👍

Tenacious D 👍

But seriously, yes I want more of everything. I want the Mazda 3 and 6 we didn't get, as well as a mess of American cars like the Ford Probe - hey, I like it - and the Pontiac Fiero models. And of course, a slew of European guys, and NOT just supercars like the Koenigseggs. I want all the cars from the previous games in the series.

And here's another "meh" vote for PC sims. Not only are most of their graphics like the PS2 HD, but they're so... stale, dry in feel and flavor, and limited. If Live For Speed was an actual game instead of a hobby project that cost more than Prologue, I'd probably buy it and forget all the other PC racers. I dislike the selection of liveries in every GTR, and I really don't want to only go tearing around at breakneck speeds in a Formula 1, gives me a headache after a while.

Thanks for the answer! I wonder if you will be able to trade them. Probably only with other people who bought the DLC if it's possible

The best would be if it could be downloaded on a usb drive, then i could do it at a place where speed is not a limit :)
But honestly if its 2GB + movie then perhaps 3Gb large ...i think my Plasma TV will get a burned in image of the download statusbar if its to slow. So i need to turn off the tv or move ps3 to another room. Then i have to go wireless which in my case is microoven sensitive...that would be great if my wife put on the oven and 3 min later PLING..her dinner is ready and my download is gone.

Sony...please release it so we can download it on a computer too and put it on others servers so that the game it self can run ok even when many download.

Specially if we need to reinstall the game...man to have to download this again?
Bet this ends to the permanent borrow glitch.

That is my biggest concern as well. Download rate will propably be at 500kb/s due to the amount of people downloading it... :scared:
