There needs to be a standard procedure to starting these formation laps. With the random grid formations the starts of these races looks like people trying to get out of the mall on Black friday.Everybody starting at once and creeping and swerving is đź‘Ž

No, we don't need anything else. If all guys read the OP of this thread, the rolling start procedure with a random grid could works very fine. It's just that everyone is disciplined and everything will go well in the brave new world

Every one is to stay sill at the start.
Then pole for 300 starts and pulls away followed by p2 and so on. Gt500 doesn't move. Till 300's are in position. Because of the small track maybe after 300 goes. 500 can sort starting with p1 and so on and pull over to the right befor turn 1. Then 300 passes again and takes their gap. Then we start our formation.

Sound right?

Hi Litchi, It is the Lexus Eneos :) any place open?

unfortunately, If the Eneos is your final choice Filip, you'll cannot race tonight cause the grid is full.

spots are open for GT300 if you want but take care. Apex MRS or Eneos?

If you don't want to wait one week for racing, you can go with the Apex, but this choice will be definitive for the whole season.
If you wait one week, you'll can qualify with the Eneos for the Round 3 and hope for a place in the top 16....

Make your choice ;)

I read it and its incomplete. The first 15 seconds are chaos. At max 2 should be moving at a time until the order is sorted.

A set procedure would help with the new people getting used to the process.

this is the rule for a mixed class - formation lap procedure. Nothing here needs to be changed. Just follow this and all will be fine.

Mixed Class - Formation lap procedure

  • GT300's will sort their grid positions first. While GT300's sort their grid, GT500's DO NOT MOVE. GT300 cars move from the grid ONE by ONE in qualifying order.
  • The Pole car drives up and parks about 100 m (300 ft) ahead. (WHILE DOING SO, THE OTHER CARS DO NOT MOVE ONE INCH). As he pases the start line, the
  • next driver can move up, and so on. Once all cars are in the correct position and are NOT moving, the pole car may start the first of two formation laps. When
  • the first lap is completed, be sure to pass the parked GT500 pack with caution. As soon as the GT300 pack have passed the GT500 pack (It's not always that GT300's need to pass the GT500's to lead the formation lap, details will be provided by the host before race start), the GT500's may pull
  • away from the start line ONE by ONE in starting order. From here on, GT300's lead the formation lap, with GT500's about 45-60 seconds behind.
  • We use this procedure to try and ensure that all cars got a decent chance of completing the race before the timer (max 180 sec) runs out. By doing this, we
  • also get finishing times for (hopefully) all cars making any penalties incurred easier to apply.
  • With this in mind, follow the steps below:
  • First, you must remember your Grid Spot (Super Lap Qualifying).
  • Hold your positions when countdown reaches zero.
  • Cars will make their way ONE BY ONE to the front and roll as a separate pack.
  • Cars must roll at a maintained pace of 55 mph / 90 kmh.
  • Field will roll double file (Single file for the Nurburgring 24h race).
  • Odd numbers will start on the inside lane relative to turn 1.
  • Even numbers will stay on the outside lane (Opposite side).
  • The Pole sitter will decide the point at which the race starts as he approaches the start-finish line.
  • You must maintain a minimum of One car length between you and the car in front (same lane).
  • One car length is the minimum, meaning it's up to you how large the gap is.
  • You must always maintain FULL visual contact with the ahead of you (opposite lane).
  • You're front bumper must not overlap the rear bumper of the car ahead of you (oposite lane), doing so can be viewed as a false start and a penalty can be applied as a result.
  • You must wait for the car ahead of you (opposite lane) to accelerate before you do!
  • No passing before the start finish line! Penalties will be strictly enforced for false starts, illegal passing, and overall aggressive driving!
  • * In case of a disconnect during the formation lap; cars behind must maintain position and can NOT move up the grid. Doing so can result in a penalty for breach of "jump start".

If we are having 2 rooms if 7+7, are we having a 3rd room for the battle for places 15 and 16?
Or are we having a 300 room and a 500 room for places 8 to 16?

Sweet thanks for posting this in here!

I just suggested moving the 500 out of the way of the 300's cause the straight isn't very wide. No need to though.

I day 7+7 in div 1 mixed class
Then 2 more rooms if same class.
1 of 300's and 1 of 500's.
This could be implemented throughout the season.
A maximum of 19. Drivers per division fighting for the top 16 places.
I have been saying this for weeks.

This, it's what we always said

Everyone gets a meaningful race đź‘Ť

In that case, all I can say to Litchi is to watch your back mirrors for the entire race. I will be hunting you down from the back :mischievous:

Biffy

I am not sure if that's happening biff.
I think it's 2 rooms of mixed class. I was just making a suggestion to get everyone racing.

The way Scanny's post is worded suggests to me that a same class D2 has been confirmed.

I can sign up in the GT300 class if I can race with the Toyota Celica, not APEX MR-S. If I can't use that car I stay in the GT500 class and wait to next week.

Celica team is full but our #1 qualifier GTP_Nissen said he had to pull out or something along that lines and we havent seen him since.. :(.

Guys, I can't understand you, will I be racing today or not? Someone clear that up :)

Ah I still held a slight hope he could still make it.... thanks for crushing that Twisted :sly: .....

Btw for D2 dont forget me and Skanny are stewards :P.

Edit: Anastasis not sure either we will try to squeeze you in or youll have to wait for 2 no shows in either class to make space.

I see NTSC only have 9 each so I can only assume the will be running same class unless they get more in...

Been running good times all night, I almost reached a 1'20.9 in fact, if it wasn't for the last corner. So I decided to qualify in haste, presuming I wouldn't get so near to those times later in the week. And what do I do? All over the place in the 1st lap, go stupidly wide in the 2nd. Fastest clean lap was a 1'28. Such good lap times and I let the pressure get to me again. Feel like I've shot myself in both arms and feet, don't think I've ever been this gutted, makes me just want to give up. Pfft, I'll be lucky to even get into D2.

From page 2 to try help out biffy đź‘Ť.

Yes just Hamilton didnt post his times because he forgot . (Hes off Biffys Christmas card list for sure )

Yes Nep unless someone gets DQed in D1 id imagine. (Which we dont want ;))
