Damaged again on Lap 9.

Well at least the first 8 laps were fun.

And Rees, don't worry, the hosting was no big deal, there is a lot of pressure and expectancy when you're in that position, mistakes happen. Sorry for getting a bit annoyed with you, lost my patience after the feature.

Sorry to scanny about pit accusation, my bad. Obviously wasn't paying attention, too angry about damage lol

I do a mistake, i put 2 times medium tyres during the sprint race then you can DQ me.
Sorry :'(
I don't know when you finish in mediums GT5 keeps mediums for the next race ...

I'm not happy with my feature race, as a big mistake early in the race cost a probable podium finish, and also I had a moment with C-Falcon89 caused by a moment of lag spike that ended my chances of running with John for most of the race, which I admit kind of was my plan. I expected 3rd or better, so 4th is hardly a good result for me, even if it's "decent".

Sprint race was simply "good". Obviously I could not win against John, so 2nd is a good result, but the "disappointment" of the first race makes it look worse. Oh well, next race I'll suffer, lose some ballast and maybe in two weeks I can have a decent race again!

Also, some people should calm down when fighting in a group, in my opinion... basically because it's heavy damage. I can also be aggressive to the point of rubbing with others quite a lot without going too far, but it's risky, so avoiding contact should be the way to go, and in my humble opinion, some should learn about this. I'm not talking about mistakes; anyone can make mistakes. This is different.

My best result so far, but I did enjoy the Nurburgring race more.

I had to fight with my car for maybe 80% of the first race due to some damage at the rear and I really suffered from its crappy top speed. Sorry GV27 for not giving you enough space at the end of the race, my car was a bit touchy in this curve and I thought you were goin to overtake in the straight. I hope I didn't mess too much with your battle against Paginas.

About the sprint race..I completely missed the start afraid by Doc' car. This is sad cause it looks like I had a pretty good pace with medium tires.

Finally I would just like to add that goin into the settings between the race and sprint is illegal (If I remember correctly), and I've seen at least 4-5 drivers doin it. One has even been allowed to buy medium tires. I find this really unfair considering NepalI got disqualified at Nurburgring cause he had 1 more pp due to the ballast balance..

Don't worry ByGGy; we had a slight misunderstanding there!! But fortunately nothing happened to either of us. You didn't influence the battle, as it went on to tbe very finish line! ;)

All season I've been thinking, when will I finish higher than I qualify or when will I finally get to the podium. In the most unprobable race both of them happened. Had no setup, had no practice and didn't qualify, but managed to climb to third from 11th place in the first 5 laps and after that I don't know what happened as everyone just disappeared from my mirrors. Then on the final laps stretchy pitted for some reason and suddenly I took a cheap 2nd with tony embarrasingly far away.

The beginning of the sprint race was maybe some of the best racing I've had all season. After the pit window though, half my brain shut off in a braking battle with litchi and it ended both our races (one half said you must defend this position, before the other half had time to say "not at 290km/h").

Hosting was great no lag at all, fantastic to go really close to others when you know you won't get lagpunted. This track turned out to be much more fun than expected. 👍

ps. do you know the feeling, when you're sort of "not looking at anything" when racing, I mean normally you look at apexes and such, but all race I felt like that. Of course when battling I was looking at the others but on my own I think I was just staring straight ahead

pps. Acelce84 if someone is coming from behind you and it's not the guy under you in the list of drivers you should let them just go instead of fighting them.

This was a horrible miss for me, and there is one person to blame for it all: ME! :ouch:

Things were looking good for most of the feature race. I had a great stint 2 with Paginas, helping each other out. Pitted early for 3rd stint, was in 4th and going good on RM's. But then on lap 28 I went head on into the barrels at turn 1. Just like that, bang. I think the RM's gave me a snap oversteer surprise.

Engine damage and undriveable car, crawled back to pits and switched back to RH's. Went out as 11/11 and tried to catch Scanny, only to damage myself again and take another pit stop. Totally the backmarker all I could do was try to help Moleman with a bit of draft.

Sprint race was just that, pushed it a bit too hard and lost some crucial seconds here and there, so even though I had pole I can not complain over 6th.

Anyway there was a lot of good racing, thanks guys

Congrats to C-Falcon and johnkiller2 for taking the spots!

Alex (GV27), in all fairness you had quite a bit of lag, for me at least. Sometimes nothing, sometimes more, but enough that I was afraid to get near you. Otoh you were flying so getting near you at all was not that easy ;).

I agree we need to be more strict with the no-settings-between-races thing. If people have not prepared their car up to specs it is their own problem imho.

Well, that didn't go so well, I am normally very good with race craft - in fact, would say it is my strongest skill, above single lap pace. So, starting from the back is not really a big issue for me, I am normally happy to pick off cars - but got caught out by two very stupid mistakes in each race today; one at Turn 6 where I just didn't account for cars taking different lines from myself (I brake late to take a double apex there), so I caused damage to myself and ByGGy there. I will report this and take the blame because it is entirely my mistake, I will hold my hands up, it ruined my race but it also ruined someone else's. Although, I also got a nice 'love tap' from another car on the way back to the pits, which was pretty uncalled for.

That whole mess meant I had to do 16 laps on a set of hards and 15 on a set of mediums, so I was crawling around for most of the race on millimetres of rubber, especially at the end! :scared:

Also managed to pick up damage in the sprint race as well; probably just due to having not having been in a race since this time last week. This was pretty dangerous actually because it meant I had to go from Lap 3 to 6 (pit window) with a car which was wanting to turn right. I really despise the pit window rule for this reason, apologies to those behind me but I was doing my best and pitted asap  - and hey, three of you got to see a epic unintentional drift through turn 8 as a result, you better be happy ;)

Pretty disappointed because I had some good pace again; only missed out on a fastest lap bonus point by a couple of hundredths, and that was with no draft at all! If I'd got a qualifying lap in, it would have been a much better couple of races for me without doubt. Le sigh! I am definitely not here next week though :sly:

I agree with the no settings between races, seems as though the rules dont mean anything...

No, I didn't take any pictures of the people who went into settings, but I wasn't sat with a camera for the god knows how long before the sprint race started...

I was doin this before. I decided to be a bit more conventional since the preseason race where I experienced some stressful brakings :scared:

Is anyone going to race in NTSC GT300 this week?
I'll race if it's only 3 of us, but we'll just do mixed class again if this is our turnout this week. :irked:

Not feeling 100% happy the way the race played out (very frustrated actually).

In the feature race, I was pushing hard the first lap to try to get a gap, but it didn't work. Decided to focus on saving tires to make a push towards the end of the stint. With about 4 laps to go I went back into the lead and on persumably better tires than Falc/GV I managed to get out of their slip. For the remainder of stint one and stint two I biult a gap of neraly 10 sec to Falc and going into the pits for a concervative last 12 laps stint on mediums.

Entrying the pit I then discovered I had no Medium tires on this car. Damn. Was still hoping to fend off Falc who had Mediums for the last stint but it was very hard given the inferior grip in the twisty section. Not only did I miss out on what should have been an easy win at this point but also any chance for best lap bonus (did a low 1:32 in the sprint race).

Between the races I first asked the host (Paginas) if I could buy Mediums for the sprint race. He said OK. I think him allowing me to do this was approriate and if it would have happened to a fellow competitor I wouldn't have objected. Yes, arguably against the rules but starting the sprint race knowing having no Mediums wouldn't been very motivating and I might have just not done the sprint race.. The key here is that I didn't just go in a buy Mediums. I first asked for permission, and when granted, i entered the set-up screen followed by a quick PP check.

The sprint race went perfect. Got ahead on most of the other cars starting on hards. Pitting on lap 6 for Mediums and after two fast laps I was just ahead of the cars starting on mediums coming out of the pit on lap 8. The last 4 laps I had the strategic advantages and could drive safe for the flag.

GV27. Sorry for the little bump on lap 1. I was defending from Falcon and took an akward line into the corner. Entirely my mistake, but I followed the gentlemans rule and didn't take advantage of the bump and neither of us fortunately got damage.

It's the 5th race and we have been using RM in every race. How could you not have RM? I find that very hard to believe unless this is your 1st race.
