as far as my season goes this was my best race.

Started off well, but outbroke myself just after eau rouge and ended up second last infront of scanny who i presume did the same (?) :ouch:

After that I caught up relatively quickly as my pace was good (for me at least). then took a few positions, had a little lag issue with nep and scanny coming up to eau rouge (lap 3/4 maybe) but nothing happened except i got punted wide, no time lost.

Then from about lap 14/15 there started a good fight for position between 7th and 11th which i had to back off of due to worn tyres on lap 21, changed to the mediums and began catching up time at quite a nice pace, but unfortunately bad tyre wear on my part (possibly due to brake balance 👍 GV) meant I had to pit on lap 31 leaving me in last, but managed a very clean and quick last few laps to get myself back up to 11th. had a little moment with jash on the penultimate corner on the last lap, but no harm done and crossed the line with damage.

Really gutted I couldnt make the tyres last longer as had the pace for a top 10 finish, maybe close to top 7, but had to make an extra pit. All goes towards the learning curve and hopefully nurburgring will be even better still. Cant complain about my position consistency though, twelfth in the table, 11th on track :D

One thing I will say though, irrelevant of position that was a fantastic race. enjoyed every minute of it (only about 15 of which were on my own 👍)

I'm very very happy with my race. It may not have been as flashy as the race of the two great guys ahead of me (👍) but I did have an extra 20kg with me, and I have the feeling the Lexus just doesn't like this track as much as it liked Laguna Seca; so those 20kg were even more important.

Still, I didn't make a single mistake (yay for me) and tried to maximize every lap and every stint. In the end, arriving just 7'7 and 1'8 from 1st and 2nd is very rewarding.

@IforceV8; it was.

Kind of thinking about it, I think you did an exceptional race in the Lexus. The cars have different strengths/weaknesses.

The RX7s have the highest top speed, so SPA should have been a good track for it.
The Gayiaras seems to be good in the corners, especially medium/fast ones. Falcon was very strong in the middle sector at SPA.
The Lexus is one of the slowest in a straight line, but has a very strong engine so it should have great acceleration.

I don't acceletation is so imprtant at SPA, but the next race at Nurnberg is very much a break-accel-break track. So it could be a very good track for the Lexus

Thanks! 👍

I'm thinking Nürburgring can be good for my car, but it's not my kind of track... and those 40kg will make things harder! Still it will be interesting, because the car won't be very bad... looking forward to next race! :)

Yep, the middle sector was what was kinda of saving me. But on the straights I just lose it all. Cars were going by me so easily, much much faster. Ballast really punishes you at Spa. And then dumb me forgot the deadline and didn't get to qualify in time.

At least I get to drop this race and just move on.

And you get to drop ballast. Just by being here, you have -10kg for next race. If you hadn't showed up, you'd have same ballast for Nürburgring. If only for that, you did well in racing 👍

Everyone who finishes out of the top 4 sheds 20kg of their success ballast, whether they race or not 👍

20kg! I thought it was 10kg. It's great to know. So if I were to miss a race I'd still drop ballast? I don't plan on missing any race but... good to know as well :)

Other that Tony getting dc'd were the rooms stable? NTSC looks to have a 16 car mixed grid if we decide to go that way.

Pag's right. Not particularly bad fps at the start, too. I vote full grids for now.

Didn't have time to practice nor qualify for Spa (Work Project deadlines). Too bad since Spa seems like it would be better for the NSX... I may or may not show up provisionally tonight (reserve), so PLC please get some good points for Team Raybrig!

PS> I can't open the quali charts...
EDIT: OK I can open from OP of this thread...

Ok with Tom that makes 17.GT300 is full with the usual 9 and GT500 has 5 that qualified and L.Hamilton, maxxking and MajikTom starting at the back.

I see no reason to not use the lounges with these numbers.

in gt300 we had no trouble what so ever with a 15 car grid

I did. Had lots of frame rate drops. Today's GT4 race was so smooth as there was only 9 of us. I think the game can only handle 12 cars on track without lag. Above that and lag appears. :grumpy:

PD fixed the bug but they didnt improve the online servers. They are still crap just without the bug.

you always have trouble "Mr Negative" lol. I think the servers have been improved quite a bit, I see a lot less disconnections

I couldn't race last night, however when I got home I watched Josh's race. Everything seemed very stable to me.
16 drivers in an online lobby for me.
Be positive NEPALII.

Nobody is saying there was no frame drop at all, but given 15 cars it didn't affect the race that much...

Or at least I don't think it did 👍

L Hamilton and MAXKING both qualified but times havnt been add to sheet.

i like to be negative so when bad things happen I dont get as disappointed. :D

L Hamilton qualified after the deadline, not sure about MAX though. Whoever was the steward should of added them to the sheet.
They probably need adding to the waiting list.
With litchi away Dom will be sorting out room or rooms nearer the time.
Last I heard the plan was to run 1 mixed class room. I see there are 9 gt300's and 5 gt500's for the race. That still leaves 2 extra spots for latecomers.
Anyone who isn't on the qualifying list and thinks they should be, should post here

Being that I am the slowest qualifying time in the entire series this week, I am going to try and get a bit of practice in before the race. I'll be in NTSC-2 if anybody wants to show me how its done. Hopefully a few practice laps will boost my confidence.

I just finished going through the GT300 qualifying times and KG/PP/HP figures so I could keep up with the checks, hopefully making things smoother. Only to hear we may be looking at another mixed class race. I will be happy to hear if we do a mixed class race, even if all the effort I put into figuring out who goes where was for nothing.

Just my luck...I get it all set up and ready to go, and start getting work phone calls. I hope I can get at least a few laps in before the race. At least I have someone covering my phone this evening

They were both after the deadline,i'm guessing thats the reason they were not added.Since the rules havent changed yet they should still start at the back.It would not be fair to the people that did make the posted deadline to allow those time to stand.

Correct.
The times don't stand. Both drivers will start at the rear from the waiting list.

Quite an eventful race for me.

On the first laps, I really struggled with pace and tires not heating up. Fell like a rock through the field and on lap 5 I was in 6ht place 7-8 sec behind Falcon. Then I got free together with Paginas and pace got better towards the rest, Paginas struggled with more worn tires, and got some time back on Falc who I also recognized had worse tirewear than me.

Looking forward to Nurnburg. I will test the tiretemp thing a bit. It could be that we shouldn't reset the room in public lobby as needed in private lounge to ge the tire temp to work properly.
I tried every combo of public room settings I could think of to fix the tire temp bug but nothing works once the original track is changed. If the room is opened as Spa and the track is not changed then all is good.If the room is opened at another track and switched to Spa its dark blue tires that never come up to proper temp.If the room starts as Spa,is changed to another track, and back to Spa the bug lives.

I used fixed host, non fixed host, tire wear off, wear off/on/off/on and even set the room to shuffle and nothing fixed it.The only thing I couldnt do is a vote since I was alone in the room.I set the room for 4 max, recommended (high) and mics off.

Since most pub rooms are running soft tires I guess thats why this issue doesnt seem to get much attention.

Is there any word on the room situation? Are we using a public or private room? Are we combining classes or not?

I don't think mixing grids is a very good idea.

If we get the timing wrong, it means one group doesn't get to finish their race.Of course I'm still hoping a few lurkers jump in to start at the back for GT500.

If you could open the official room and host that would be super.👍
My internet has been acting funny the last hour. :scared:

Public room should do nicely.
