Wow.. 2:12.523

Good job on the hosting today Litchi. Started with a funky room that I couldn't seem to connect to.. To the problem with the tires not reaching temperature. But you kept everything rolling, and the race started with seemingly no glitches. đź‘Ť

yeah, no glitches and check job was a kid game cause you all were super aware. Thank you guys. đź‘Ť

Kiss kiss.

bedtime for me.

Will's going to sleep at human hours!! Brace yourselves. Have fun during the weekend, buddy.

;)

Well... could have been worse, at least I got between the two fatty cars

And missed out on getting a fastest lap bonus point by a couple of hundredths, argh!

An ok recovery really considering I've done a pit stop more than almost the whole field, started last, and having limped around with big damage for a full lap.

Well done Johan on the win, very impressed with Falcon's effort too.

Thank you Moleman, I was actually 1 lap away from winning looking at the fuel loads of each of us. Shame really. Still haven't won a race in WSGTC...

You guys also had problems with tires not warming up? Hmm I think PD found out about WSGTC and now they are trying to sabotage the series or something. :D

As for my race, all I can say is I shouldn't have bothered in showing up :grumpy: That was crap. On the good side, I get to drop some ballast.

My tires did not warm up as usual, took longer time and never got warm. Struggled with pace in the beginning of each stint. On the second race lap, I got a good toe on the straight behing Falcon, had a free track in front of me Falcon still ahead, and still didn't get into the 1.24. Was down to 6th after 5-6 laps.

Thought I was going to run out of fuel. On the last 3rd of the last lap, there was just a thin sliver of red bar on the fuel meter. Saving fuel like driving a Prius on the last lap.

Edit: Thanks Mole

I'm very very happy with my race. It may not have been as flashy as the race of the two great guys ahead of me (đź‘Ť) but I did have an extra 20kg with me, and I have the feeling the Lexus just doesn't like this track as much as it liked Laguna Seca; so those 20kg were even more important.

Still, I didn't make a single mistake (yay for me) and tried to maximize every lap and every stint. In the end, arriving just 7'7 and 1'8 from 1st and 2nd is very rewarding.

@IforceV8; it was.

I think about 100 meters. I thought I was going to run out of fuel. Had to drive the last lap real slow, not suing full throttle when possible and upshifting early.

just working on a race report, will post it tomorrow. was really great, closest racing i've ever had on GT5. Glad a joined WSGTC, first online racing season and it's great. just a shame i couldn't get longer out of the tyres, had I not had to pit an extra time I may well have done top 7...

Despite my position in the league tables I always seem to get damn quick laps at random points... 2:23.104, only .550 off fastest lap... wtf... why cant i do that as a constant race pace? argh lol.

either way, good race everyone, cant wait for nurburgring! (sadly not my favourite track, but a good one for the impreza so fingers crossed)

That was indeed a nice lap, and no draft đź‘Ť

My own best was a 23.4, with two perfect drafts

The Subaru's are known to be hard on the tyres, but I also see you use 7/8 brake balance. You could try much lower, like 2/5, or maybe even 0/5 or 1/5 if you can keep the rear in check. For quali I sometimes use high settings, but for race always medium or low, it helps a lot on wear.

đź‘Ť I'll give it a try, cheers :) just annoyed I can't keep the pace up lol

Man, I'm jealous on how packed the grids are at the end of the races. I would love to see the first couple of laps on the replay. Must look so real with a gigantic pack of like 13-15 cars coming up Eau Rouge.

And finally got my new PS3 up and fully operational. Just ran a few first laps around Spa and got a 2'16.5 on my 3rd flying lap with a lot more to chop off the time. Looking forward to this race. :D

You can teach a fast driver to be consistent; you can't teach a slow driver to be fast, even if he's consistent. Or so they say...

Fingers crossed I can lol. Also, Hamilton, I got a few pics from the gt300 replay on the first couple of laps. Was pretty damn epic I have to admit. Extremely nerve wracking being mid pack after eau rouge though, out broke myself and blew it first lap lol

Edit: tree'd

Do post them! More pictures are always welcome! And if you've got the speed, you'll eventually get there :)

Beginnin of the race was pretty cool I think (thx Scanny for avoidin me at the end of the straight on the first lap and Nepal for not tryin to rush any overtake move).

Sadly I made a mistake at the beginning of the 10th lap, seriously damaging my car (rear and engine) for a full lap. Lost more than 40s there and messed up the strategy.

I did try to do a long 2nd run to make only 2 stops but I didn't have much tires at the end of the race, so Jashugan and Oalithgow came back on me with medium tires. It looks like Scanny had even worse tires and I managed to pass him on the last lap.

lap2.jpg

Lap 2: The whole field coming out of Eau Rouge, in good shape.

The race was pretty uneventful for me. I had decided on a 12,12,12 strategy with RM's last, and did exactly that. But I lost the pack very early and drove stint 1 alone.

Crashed and damaged on lap 12, the car took forever to accelerate even in 1st. Fortunately it was only a few hundred metres before the pits.

Nepalii caught up because of the crash, but since he went for one more lap on his old tyres I caught him again. Funnily the same thing happened at the second pit stop, he had just come up on my bumper on lap 24, and I out-pitted him again :D

There were some good battles on stint 2 and 3. Towards the end Moleman got closer at an alarming rate, but his tyres wore out just before he got me, so he and Nepalii ended just behind. A few points here and there, everything might matter in the end.

Qualified 8th, ended 8th, can not complain. All faults were completely my own, and I just did not have the pace to get a better result. The car was heavy, and the pilot never feels at home on Spa. Both will be different on Nurb I hope :mischievous:.

Great racing from everyone I fought with. The field is really looking good.

i went out of fuel on the last lap :dunce: a well deserved 15th place for me:grumpy:

I saw that in the replay, that just sucks. I have done the same at Spa once, and boy it is a long way home with 80kmh/50mph. Good thing is, you will NEVER make that mistake again now ;)

And ByGGy, great that you got cabled, what a difference :) đź‘Ť

Quite an eventful race for me.

On the first laps, I really struggled with pace and tires not heating up. Fell like a rock through the field and on lap 5 I was in 6ht place 7-8 sec behind Falcon. Then I got free together with Paginas and pace got better towards the rest, Paginas struggled with more worn tires, and got some time back on Falc who I also recognized had worse tirewear than me.

Pitted a lap early (11th race lap) and put on mediums to ensure not being drawn into the pack at the beginning of the stint. GV27 pitted one lap later, so I got passed him by pitting one lap earlier. Falc was on hards on the second stint, and I was happy getting passed him without losing any time or him being able to sit in my draft for any time and benefit from my medium tire pace.

The rest was a race against the clock. On mediums, I didn't push for one lap pace but focused to get them to last as long as possible. Did 13 laps on them and pitted on the same lap as Falc 12-13sec ahead. So 12 laps on hards, 12 sec ahead of Falc on mediums, I needed to limit his gains to less than 1 sec/lap. In the beginning he gained a little more, but I was still hopefull as when his tires were going off his gains would slow down. When the gap was down to about 6 sec after 6 laps into the stint, I noticed that our pace was about the same so then I started to focus on taking care of the tires. In the end I actually had better pace than Falc, but almost running out of fuel I had to pace myslef and just manage the gap at 6 sec to ensure I wouldn't need a very last splash and dash to make it to the finish.

Looking forward to Nurnburg. I will test the tiretemp thing a bit. It could be that we shouldn't reset the room in public lobby as needed in private lounge to ge the tire temp to work properly.
