New TT 33 & DT 33

From a Ford Guy to a Chevy Guy (based on Avatars / Handle ) I just wanted to say thank you for the sharing some insights on sets up "AGAIN" 👍...You are too nice to be a Chevy Guy :)

LSD settings helped a ton! Doubtful I will stay under 200 for long, but I got more time to make up on some turns.

Thank you again

Well, I love all cars. I love the Corvette and the new Mustangs very much. I am truly enjoying this rebirth of the muscle car era. The new Viper and the '13 GT500 Shelby makes things even more interesting!

As for the set up, Yinato deserves much credit, but I am glad I could clear up the LSD for people. It's a VERY important feature and should never be ignored.

The lower the acceleration LSD setting (5), the more understeer is HIGHLY pronounced. However, acceleration will be, let's say, more restricted and controllable. As you approach (60), understeer is HIGHLY decreased. However, acceleration will be, let's say, much more loose and requiring a delicate finger/foot.

The same can be said for deceleration LSD setting: (5) = pronounced understeer while breaking (decelerating). However, the car will break with stability and control. As you approach (60), you experience decreased understeer during braking (decelerating). However, the vehicle will experience a more loose/unstable stopping motion, requiring more control with your foot/finger.

Think of the adjustable LSD as a substitute for traction control. If you're using traction control, you're limiting yourself greatly. Instead, buy an adjustable LSD and begin to break free from the limitations of traction control.

Thank you and Yinato  I always hit a wall with my sets up and reach a breaking point. Glad you two are generous enough to point things out clearly to make the game even more competative  LSD increased on Acceleration made a world of a different! Still at 20 up front but the rear is nice...might have too much wing since I cant get the back end to step out easily this time.

Doubtful the Shelby GT500 has anything for the ZR1 when inserting two equal drivers...I must confess :(

55.773 now at London. I'm slowly climbing the leaderboard and I'm at 6th position now.

30 front/70 rear is the correct torque split for this car. It took me a few days to figure it out, even before Yinato posted his friend's tune.

With the 30/70 split, you might want to reduce the rear LSD to a lower number. Say 25. It's all dependent on the driver, though.

Thanks for this.

I tried this setup last night.......I couldn't break 1:19.8xx.

My first reaction was "How the heck does anyone drive this setup quickly, there's way too much oversteer"........then I realised I haven't adjusted the rear downforce.

I'll have a go again tonight with some wing

Yinato. My first post on GTP goes to you - thanks for posting up your tune for the R8, it is absolutely spot on.

Managed to get down into the 1:17's and inside the top 70. Followed your ghost around a couple of times and you manage to pull off some killer lines and carry a helluva lot of speed! Bravo!

Whao, Nice Times on London Doodle and peasantslayer.
Thanks for posting tune Yinato, V Nice Lap 👍

Thanks for posting the R8 tune yinato.
I went from a 17.7xx to a 17.1xx.
Did london with a stock gtr v spec with a 57.1 and just dropped off the leaderboard.
Cant seem to get my 29bhp kart anywhere near a 56s.
Any tips on ballast and gearing peeps?

Hello to all my friends,

I'm really happy that my setup is useful for you, thank you for your thanks.

I also wanted to apologize for my double pseudo (GTPL_yinato - yinato), it was not voluntary...

I have trouble with this time trial, I do not understand the conduct of the 4x4 and I have a hard time concentrating, I lack a little envy, again, my G27 does not work anymore, the motor to died earlier in the day...

So I thought to see me re-equip properly with a real steering wheel + playseat nine, I'd like to ask you if you knew what he did best in playseat ?

The WRC playseat or GT looks pretty, what do you think ?

This new material will serve me for GTacademy and later for GT6.

Thank you and wish you all a great day.

Regards,
Yinato.

Thank you my friend, your link is very interesting!

I came across a model of G27 steering wheel changed, do you know more? The cooling air of having been improved, it's interesting! Do you also know what is the next case?

Just did a 55.988 which is slightly slower than my best, I didn't get the best exit out of the 2nd to last corner but overall it was a decent lap because I landed smoothly at the end of the lap and every other corner was there or there abouts. Does anybody know how much power the 125 kart can have before it goes past 500 PP? I just don't want to add too much ballast because acceleration seems to be very important.

Thanks for posting the R8 tune yinato.

I've got a 28/29 bhp kart I gear it so it has just enough to reach 93 mph. I reach the top speed quite a long time before the end of the straight so that I benefit from the acceleration which is important through all of those slow corners.

For some odd reason I can't seem to get the same gear ratios as Yinato.

Is there any trick to it? Best I can get down to is 1:18.5 but as I say I can't get the same gearing and my max power is down about 10hp?

Any ideas?

I reset the transmission, then set the max speed to 124mph, then set the final gear and the rest as per Yinato's settings.

Also, I believe you can only replicate his set up and power figures if you DON'T do an oil change.

Please keep any talk of steering wheels to the Sim racing hardware forum.

Yinato, thanks for posting your setup. I got a 16.7 on deep forest with it and is much better than anything I had come up with. And it was surprising because I use the controller, and setups made with the wheel don't usually translate to the controller and vice versa

The top 10 at London has really gotten faster over the past 3 days. snowyair has taken the lead with a 55.424. Racfor is down to a 55.566 with the directional buttons! There's also a Lotus Elise in 8th place. Peasantslayer is at a 55.590 and I'm down to a 55.658 in 7th. I also have the fastest sector 2 time out of everyone in the top 10.

Have you seen my lap? it's terrible in some places, that extra bit of power is really making the difference, twice I've actually had the whole of my kart ahead of snowyair 2/3 corners from the end. He might of done an almost perfect lap in a low power kart so it may be down to me and you to beat him. :) Racfor probably deserves it simply because he uses directional buttons.

By the way doodle GoingInHot gave me his kart for duping because for some weird reason 125 SPLs can't be borrowed to people but they can be given.

I've watched your lap. You left out a good tenth in sector 1 and sector 2. I hit the wall slightly coming out of the first sharp left-hander so that was about a good tenth there. Also I had a 14.96x in sector 1 on a previous lap so thats another tenth lost. So I think our max is a 55.3

That's an incredible first sector time it's probably the extra top speed I notice you have quite a long gear, I've opted for more acceleration through the rest of the lap. It's the last sector where a lot of time can be won or lost, you make a mistake early on and you lose a tenth but if you make a mistake in the last 2 corners you can easily lose up to half a second without hitting anything.

I was geared to 95mph for most of the time but I saw from watching replays everyone was geared to 92-93 so I tried 93mph today and it works great.

You guys in your karts amaze me. I can't drive them things to save my life, lol. My hats off to all you kart drivers. Amazing job everyone.

Hello my friends,

I post my configuration (base TC-Vincho) for the Audi R8, explanations for it will be later, know that I apologize to you all wait for you to share my setup, I have a little trouble right now...

Thanks for the setup Yinato, very fast.

thanks a lot Yinato!!
One second down with your setup. The key is the rygidity improvement. Before i tried your setup without rygidity and I was blocked on 1.18XXX.
I've tried both your R8 (red and blue) but the blue one is fantastic setted:tup:
