:lol::lol::lol:What say to this?
That exact thing happened to me at the last race of GT6 demo (GT Academy 2013) the one with the GT3 car.
The only way to fix it was to start over, i.e. delete save data. that was only 5 trials and 4 races if i remember correctly, so not a big problem, but for you... yikes, I think its better to just live with it.^^

I can't find the motivation to run ONE track/car combo for more than an hr stint at a time, eyes go funny and I'd end up looking like Cranks new Avatar... If anything I go slower after a certain time anyway, definately a sign I'm getting old :grumpy:

Yep, me too. I lose motivation rather quickly and 1st 100km is the biggest improvement window for me because it's still fun at that stage:D I still haven't come back for this event I might use SRF just to gold.lol:P

What I find admirable is that these top top aliens are not only fast but they are very dedicated. Some of them clock thousands of kilometers just to improve by a tenth. Their first few warm up laps are often good enough to remain in top 30 by the time the event closes but they choose to spend hours on end just to improve even further. I remember last year's GT5 Grand Valley TT event IMMORTALPILOT's replay displayed his fastest time came on his 95th lap. He was leading already before that but he did it just to further gap himself from the 2nd runner, who was Amo I believe.

So it's too arrogant of me not to spend enough hours for any given event and whine it's tedious and painstaking - because even those demi-gods sacrifice so many hours to do their own battle - why shouldn't I? I'm learning to take their disciplinary attitude for driving these "less than ideal handling" cars.

If PD wanted me to understand that this FXX is indeed untamable and if I were ever to think that I can drive a 800hp racing cars just as well as any real life racing drivers I'm indeed mistaken, and PD, yes I got your message and I'm sorry alright?lol

How are you guys finding out how many miles people are clocking on the TTs? Would be interesting to see but I don't even know where to find my own :P

Believe it or not, the most distance I've ever put into a GT6 seasonal is 300 miles. I tend to get bored after 30-45 minutes unless I'm in the groove.

The thing I don't get, is I've probably put in about 6-7 hours, so don't know how I haven't done more miles.

Not sure of the miles, I'll have to look later, but its nothing for me to put in 6-8 hours a day (sometimes even more)....every day, on these Seasonals. My hands are pretty calloused now, but there were times that I'd run so much that my steering wheel would be covered with blood from blisters....hands would be very sore but I would keep going anyway, searching for that tenth, even hundredth. When I'm into it, I'll stop at nothing to improve. (I'm sure some of you have heard about my infamous "diaper" episode.:lol: No shame in my game:lol::lol:) Anyways, I'll have to look at my miles next time I log in, I'm curious now. :scared:

*Diaper episode: After one of my back surgeries, I had my gf help me into my Playseat and started playing. Long story short, I ended up busting a few stitches and started bleeding. To prevent blood from getting on my seat, I had her outfit me in an adult diaper. She reluctantly obeyed, but to this day thinks I'm crazier than a s:censored:thouse rat. She fully supports me though in my efforts though and my quest.

I'm picturing you with a :censored:bucket, like those Colonel 100 guys in BF Friends.

Can't knock your committment there mate but what 'point' does it get you to, this extra tenth/hundrenths?

I was pretty hardcore playing Forza4, would put in a ton more physical time, but i was far more sucessful, I could get top times in the world and at one point had over 200 hardcore times on forzastats, that spurred me on, certainly can't do anything close on GT.

Just wondering what you're aiming for and whats acheived in your case?

I would have thought mileage would reset on this event every time it is exited so odometer reading I imagine is for the session total up to point where fastest lap was made.

My goal? D1 Gold in the WRS and to be in the top 35 (or whatever the cutoff is) in the GT Academy, NA. I want to be able to at least make the trip to wherever it is to compete, and meet, the best of the best in the NA region. That's my goal and that's all I want. My disabilities prevent me from going any further in the competition, but to be able to make that trip to compete with/meet the very NA people I have been competing with here would be totally awesome, a dream come true. Now, you may think that that sounds selfish and that's fine, but that's my goal none the less. Its been a long, hard road thus far, but rest assured, I will make that trip. ;)

Yes! I love to see other people's dedication! It's the source for my own. I'm Also aiming for GT Academy Brazil (once it comes) when I'm old enough. I hope you are successful in your quest.

ok there are Aliens , there are Talents, and there are Normal people. All of those categories of players can do it, and reach their goal. It just breaks down to different amounts of effort put in to accomplish that goal. Maybe Doodle needs as much as 300km , maybe Immortal or Amo or Escama or Viper need less than that, because they all belong to the Talented Alien Nation...
I being a stubborn normal guy with a little talent:), can easily do over 5k km's in a single TT to get to my goal..which depends on what gives me a sense of accomplishment each time. Sometimes its the top 100, sometimes top 50. my best position has been 17th... to end up around 27th or so, but that happened rather easily and is not the usual case.
So Take Mitch's advice and practice, practice and when you think you can't go any further, practice more!
As for you Mitch, I'm sure you will hit your goal:tup:

Seems like a very worthwhile goal in that case

Maybe 'touchdown' is a more apt term! 👍

I think the odometer is reset at this event, but could be fun to see how much time people usually put into the event, where you use your own car, and the odometer is'nt restet. unless they switch cars...

As for me, I start by driving and feeling the car looking for setup for about an hour, by then I pretty much have figured out what time I SHOULD be able to do, and then stop at nothing to get that time. ofcourse, when I finally get that time, my "should be able to do" time has improven by roughly 2 tenths.

Lowest mileage I've ended up with was about 100km, the longest was just last week where the Mazda ended up at about 560km.

I gotta change my goals then, I aim for the top of the friends leaderboard. You're right, practice till the leather rips off your G27!! Or whatever other material your wheel is made out of.

Thank you for the vote of confidence Yan, appreciate it. 👍 And yes, nothing comes easy. I'm sure even the "aliens" had to work hard to get to where they are, I doubt they came out of the womb with a steering wheel in their hands and automatically being able to lap a track in record time. Yes, there are God-given talents, but it is very rare and most have to work hard to achieve their goals. Most of them have also been sim racing for quite a while or even have real world track experience in some form or another, which all help lead to their success. For the little guy like me, I have only been at this since like 6 months after the release of GT5, with no real life track experience at all, not even go carts. If I may say, I don't think I'm doing that bad, considering my disabilities and lack of experience, as compared to most others. I proudly carry the flag for the "little guys", the guys who don't get a lot of attention, who aren't considered "aliens", or otherwise considered to be a threat to the top 10. I'm doing this from the ground up, through hard work, dedication, and many, many hours of sometimes painful practice/competition sessions. At the end of the day though, I wouldn't change a thing....its just going to feel that much better, knowing what I had to go through, when I reach the "promise land".

For all those that may share my goals, or even just want to get better, come join me on this journey. Dedicate yourself to improvement. With hard work and a positive mindset, you too can obtain what you previously thought unachievable. Peace, and as always, stay fast my friends.
